I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards- The learner:
● Demonstrates understanding of lifestyle and weight management to promote
community fitness
B. Performance Standards- The learner:
● Maintains an active lifestyle to influence the physical activity participation of the
community
● Practices healthy eating habits that support an active lifestyle
C. Learning Competencies: At the end of the 2 hours’ period, the learner is expected to:
● Define Physical fitness and Physical activities
● Explain the importance of physical fitness assessment in performing physical
activities
● Give a physical fitness assessment in performing physical
● activities and other exercises.
● Undertake, Record and give feedback on the physical activity and physical
fitness assessments.

IV. PROCEDURES
Preliminary Routine:
● Start with a prayer to be led by the teacher first
● Check the cleanliness and class list of names of the section
● Let the checker of attendance report and the new yell or claps
● Establish some non-verbal style of communication to learners
● Collect the previous answered LAWs and for the late submissions

A. Reviewing Previous or Presenting New Lesson
● The teacher will show some letters to form a word associated with the different
forms of arts
● Let the students recall the Western Arts of different period through pictures
● Let the students share their experiences about the example of art activities
they have done in Arts 9
● Share the different appreciation claps and award system after sharing their
experiences

B. Establishing a Purpose for the Lesson
● Ask the students feedback about their activities in the Weekly Home Learning
about activity #1-4 in Physical Education
● Bridge the gaps of the learning activities between the F2F instructions and the
Distance Home Learning in PE
● Process the learner’s experiences and the non-performing learners
● Ask students to talk about what “health means to them, and by contrast what
“physical fitness” means to them.
● Ask volunteer students to explain from their own words about the objectives of
the day through the PowerPoint
● Give the reward system like the FIVE STAR 5min

C. Presenting Examples/ Instances of the New Lesson


● Let the volunteer students discuss what relationship exists between health and
physical fitness.
● Using the PAR-Q & YOU let the students answer it before proceeding to
exercises
● Before proceeding to the activity students must obtain first their PMHR
(Personal Maximal Heart Rate) and THR (Target Heart Rate).

D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skills #1


● The teacher and students will have dynamic and static stretching before
proceeding to the activity.
● Let the teacher give some fact about “What Are Some Benefits of Exercise?
Experts recommend that teens get 60 minutes or more of moderate to vigorous
physical activity each day. Here are some reasons why:

countless times how exercise is "good for you." But did you know that it can
help you feel good too? Getting the right amount of exercise can rev up your
energy levels and even help improve your mood.
● The teacher will call volunteer students to read the lecture on the slides about
the benefits of regular physical activity. (watch out for LITERACY)
● Give FIVE STARs to the active participation for this activity
● Ask some clarifications and questions from the students before going to the
next activity

E. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skills #2
● The following template is provided for the students to accomplish by filling in
the blanks. Identify the missing component of physical fitness, name of the
fitness test in the first column and the respective scores generated by actually
performing the indicated tests in the second column

● Introduce students to the components of physical fitness by letting the selected


student read the definitions. (LITERACY)
● Let the students do/model the example exercise in each component in the
class before proceeding to the Physical Fitness Test.
● Ask the students for clarifications and questions or queries.

F. Developing Mastery (Leads formative Assessment)
● For the performance target for boys and girls refer to the following tables of
targets according to your age and gender for the interpretation of your scores

● Using the materials needed let the students do the physical fitness test by pairs
to be guided by their teacher.
● Ask the students for clarifications and questions or queries.

G. Finding Practical Applications of Concepts and Skills in Daily Living
● The teacher will let the students answer the processing questions in ½
crosswise
Processing Questions:
1. What did the result of the Fitness Test reveal about your present fitness
level?
2. Which tests did you score satisfactorily? Poorly? What should you do
about it?
3. Which of the two levels of activity intensity did your heart rate fall during
the conduct of the Fitness Test? (Moderate or Vigorous)
4. How important is taking your THR when participating in a certain
physical activity?

H. Making Generalizations and Abstractions About the Lesson
● Using the answers the students have given in processing questions let
students explain the importance of physical fitness assessment in performing
physical activities
● Walk through with the LAWS of PE for the 6th week and let the students read
the directions that are hard to understand
● Give clarifications of what needs to be done and be submitted soon.
● Give the students further instructions for the next meeting of their submission
and other requirements
● Give appreciation round clap to the best reader of instructions

I. Evaluating Learning
● Include some questions from the lesson today
● Dictate some five questions to check the students hearing ability
● The following are the questions:
Identify the following statements. Write your answer in ¼ sheet of pad
paper.
1. It is the body’s relative amount of fat to fat-free mass.
2. Its purpose is to measure strength of upper extremities.
3. It refers to the ability of the joints to move through a full range of motion.
4. A test of flexibility for the lower extremities particularly the hamstring.
5. It’s the ability of the heart, lungs and blood vessels to deliver oxygen to
working muscles and tissues, as well as the ability of those muscles and
tissues to utilize that oxygen.
