Challenge

L2: Discussion - Action Plan Reflection - Frame Your Design Challenge - Template

Advocacy Focus Problem: What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Your Response Here:

Teen parents are in need of resources in AZ.

Design Question: Try framing the problem you would like to solve as a design
question.

Your Response Here:

How can we give teen parents the resources they need to be successful?

Impact: What impact are you trying to have in this area?

Your Response Here:

I am hoping to be able to bring to attention the need for resources to keep teen parents in
school to enhance their chances at a successful future in the state of Arizona.

Solutions: What are some possible solutions to your problem?

Your Response Here:

TAPP Reinvented can be brought to school districts within Arizona. TeenAge Parent Program
Reinvented will provide free childcare at the home base school in each school district. There
is one home base in each school district. In addition to the free childcare, teen parents will
have one class a day called TAPP Reinvented where they learn about pregnancy, parenting,
have access to the food pantry, and so much more.

Design Challenge Hurdles: Write down some of the hurdles and constraints that you’re
facing. (These could be geographic, technological, time-based, or have to do with the
population you’re trying to reach.)

Your Response Here:

One hurdle I would definitely face is funding. Arizona school funding is already super low, so it
will be hard to get schools to be on board with this. However, this can be resolved through
sponsors and fundraisers.

Another constraint would be getting speakers to come into the school. With failing TAPP
programs in Tucson, there is a lack of guest speakers which has led to the students wasting
an hour of their day doing nothing.

Final Design Challenge Question: Does your original question need a tweak? Try it
again.

Your Response Here:

How can we give teen parents in Arizona the resources they need to graduate from high
school?
