搭配詞 collocations 是什麼？

在英⽂裡，某些名詞要搭配特定動詞。這個搭配沒有理由，也不能⽤⽂法
解釋，就是語⾔習慣成⾃然，中式英⽂常常就是因為搭配詞錯誤。

舉例⽽⾔，「我想提升英⽂能⼒」如果說 I want to raise my English 是錯

的，「提升」並不是 raise，⽽是 improve。所以，應該講 I want to
improve my English。順便補充，「英⽂能⼒」寫 English ability，ability
是贅字，講 I want to improve my English 即可。
