Topic

An investigation into the demand for pizza amongst form four students of San
Juan South Secondary for the period ending March 2023.

Issue

The product not living up to expectations but still gains attraction and demand
due to its established name of pizza, as with a lot of widely consumed goods.

Problem

An increased demand may cause the seller to underproduce or raise the price as
they may not be able to fulfil everyone’s demand.

Objectives

The aim of this investigation is to evaluate how many form four students of San
Juan South consume pizza.

The aim of this investigation is to gather information pertaining to pizza about

why it’s regarded the way it is.

The aim of this investigation is to evaluate the history for pizza.

Background/Overview

Pizza is a widely consumed and enjoyed food across the globe, originally being
a piece of bread, tomato slices and cheese but its simplicity yet complexity is
one of the multiple things that made it interesting and highly demanded. The
data suggests that though the pizza sold at San Juan South has many
imperfections, many students still purchase and enjoy it. The history of pizza
has gone back years. The price of the pizza in San Juan South Secondary has
changed a lot from 2018 till present. It is believed that pizza is high in demand

Methodology

The researched data in this SBA was accumulated by primary sources which
included questionnaires and secondary sources which included surveys. My
SBA group shared a google form that contained the questionnaire on What’s
app. The results of the research were calculated and tallied with my group
members to output the charts below. The questionnaire was necessary to
complete my objectives. In order to get the questionnaires completed, I had to
send it to various school What’s app groups. Although the questionnaire had
given some information, I needed additional information. I did a survey to gain
more information. The surveys consisted of six questions relating to the topic.
The survey was also necessary to complete my objectives. The data for demand
of pizza in San Juan South Secondary was collected and put into graphs.

This research was carried out to investigate the demand for pizza in San Juan
South. The questionnaire and survey were used to try and find the demand of
the cafeteria’s pizza, e.g., rate the taste and quality of the pizza out of 10.
Results were tallied up and were represented in various charts and graphs.

Twelve students of San Juan South completed the questionnaire, five male, six
female and one preferred not to say and five students completed the survey.
Because of the topic being the demand for pizza in San Juan South, I only
issued the questionnaire and survey to students attending San Juan South.

Conclusion

In completion of this School Based Assessment, I can say that all the objectives
were met. Investigations otherwise were also made for e.g., Factors that
influence purchasing pizza. In my school, the main reason for purchasing pizza
is the price and taste based on the questionnaire. The gender that bought pizza
more was girls, and the overall age was above 14 years old. The most suitable
solution to increase the demand for pizza is to improve the taste and to lower
the price. With all this researched information, it can be settled that this
investigation was successful.

Recommendation

The purpose of this recommendation is to give the reader a better understanding

of this investigation into the demand for pizza at SJSS which was obtained
through a means of informed findings.

We sought to find reasons as to why it's widely consumed here at SJSS, and
factors, such as quality, taste, price or simply availability that make the pizza so
desirable.

In order for the demand for pizza to increase at this school there should be
measures taken by the cafeteria ladies to maximize profit while maintaining
quality all at a stable price.

The measures are as follows:

Lowering the price- Dropping the price or simply not over expensing children
for average pizza should be able to skyrocket the demand for pizza, given that
the sellers are able to obtain all the resources needed for making it, as some
children can't afford to pay $9 for a slice of pizza. Also, according to the
research data, a good proportion of students would not buy more if the price
were to increase.

Adding variations to the plain old cheese pizza- Being given the opportunity to
choose your toppings should be able to increase the number of students buying
pizza as they aren't provided with the option of plain old cheese pizza, seeing as
though the same old things may become tiring at some point.
