Pearltuff PU Primer (2K)
Description

Pearltuff PU Primer is the two-component system, acrylic aliphatic polyurethane coating. Designed to
crosslink at room temperature. Base component is an acrylic polyurethane i.e. Hydroxy functional acrylic
copolymer (pigmented) which reacts with polyisocyanate adduct (second component) to form tough film with
outstanding durability, chemical, weather resistance & excellent water resistance. Fast drying at room
temperature. Provide excellent adhesion to substrates.

Recommended Use

PU Primer allows both in the case of waterproofing membranes as well as in floorings, adhesives and other
polyurethane coatings, to obtain high adhesion links between the substrate and the coating on top, so that there
is a chemical anchorage between both elements. An effective primer for petrochemical refinery, fertilizer
industries, chemical industries. The system is useful for maintenance coating, structural coating.

Direction for Use

Surface Preparation:
Dry, clean and well-prepared surface free on oil and other contaminant is necessary.

Mixing:
Stir the base and hardener separately. If settling is observed in the base, loosen the settled material with the
help of hand stirrer followed by power driven stirrer for quick homogenous mixing. Mix hardener gradually
into the base under continuous stirring as per mixing ratio. Once the unit has been mixed, it should be
consumed within the working pot life.

Application

The product can be applied by

Spray: Air spray or airless spray may be used.
Brush: Recommended. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
Roller: Recommended. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.

Use pearlsolve PU thinner to reduce to spraying consistency upto 12 to 15 Sec. by ford cup no. B-4 to give a
uniform smooth finish, free of wrinkles.
Don’t use below 10°C & RH > 80 %.

Storage & Packing

Storage : The product must be stored in accordance with national regulations. Keep the containers in a
dry, cool, well ventilated space and away from sources of heat and ignition. Containers must
be kept tightly closed between 10°C and 30°C. Handle with care. Once opened, use the
entire container within 10 days of opening. Contact with moisture causes gelation.
Packing : 20 liter.

Safety Information

Use under well ventilated conditions. Do not inhale spray mist. Avoid skin contact. Spillage on the skin
should immediately be removed with suitable cleanser, soap and water. Eyes should be well flushed with
water and medical attention sought immediately.
