Cricket is played between two teams each made up of eleven players.
Games are comprised of at least one innings where each team will take turns in batting and fielding/bowling.
The fielding team will have a bowler bowl the ball to the batsman who tries to hit the ball with their bat.

Approximately how many teams or players are there in the U.S.? Is the sport

 International Cricket Council. There are 6 U.S. teams.

5. What national or international competitions exist for the sport? How often are
they held? What do they involve?
There are three formats of cricket played at the international level – Test matches, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20
Internationals.

6. Is it an Olympic sport? If so, in what year was the sport first included in the
Olympics?
No.
 7. Are there any famous athletes associated with the sport? If so, who? For what
country did or do they play? Are there any interesting stories about the athlete or
athletes?
None that are popular in the U.S.

8. What other interesting facts, stories, or pieces of information are relevant to

the sport? The longest cricket match lasted for 14 days.
