Exercise No.

1 What Volume of paint would required to cover an areas of 300 square meters, to a specified
DFT of 65 micron, using a paint of 45% volume solid?
43.35% -

45 (vs) X 10 = 6.92m2/ltr (theorytical sperading rate)

65 (DFT)

300(m2) ÷ 6.92m2/ltr(tsr) = 43.35ltr

2 What is the Wet Films Thickness reading if, the Dry Films Thickness is 250µm and the Volume Solid
of paint is 78%?

W.F.T = 100 X 250

78
= 320µm

3 What is the Dry Films Thickness reading, if the Wet Films Thickness is 250µm and the Volume Solid
of paint is 50%?

D.F.T = 250 X 50
100

= 125µm

4 What is the Volume Solid of paint if the WFT is 300µm and the DFT is 125µm?

Volume Solids = 125 x 100

300

= 41.66%
