Respiratory System

A human body is built up of plenty of different parts which also consist of different

systems in order to make the body work. Respiratory system is just one system out of many

which helps the body to replenish its oxygen to maintain the activity of the body parts.

Respiratory system is a broad topic which consist of different organs that are mainly focused on

the idea of maintaining the human body functional through dispersing the oxygen throughout the

body, the focus of this paper is to understand what is the respiratory system?, what is the main

function of respiratory system?, and how can I keep my respiratory system healthy. These are the

points that were going to tackle the respiratory system.

To start with, we're going to talk about what is the respiratory system? Respiratory

system is a system consisting of a group of organs and tissues which helps an individual to

breathe. Respiratory system consists of upper and lower respiratory parts, nevertheless the main

parts of Respiratory system are the lungs, blood vessels and the airways. Respiratory system also

includes the muscles which provide power to your lungs to help it contract and expand, these

parts work together to make the respiratory system work.

Respiratory system have plenty of functions, some of these are; it helps in maintaining

the body temperature by delivering warm air to your stomach which also moisturizes the

stomach to the level of humidity that the body needs, it delivers the oxygen to the cells of your

body, it protects the airways from dangerous substances and lastly, the respiratory system

removes carbon dioxide and other waste gases in your body through the process of exhaling.

Respiratory system’s main function is to provide oxygen to our body through the process of

inhaling, and releasing carbon dioxide and other unhealthy gases through exhaling. Without the

respiratory system, an individual cannot continue the process of respiration.


With all of this, how are we able to keep our respiratory system clean and healthy? There

are plenty of ways to keep our respiratory system healthy, first and foremost we need to maintain

a healthy diet such as eating fruits and vegetables also ensure to stay hydrated by drinking the

minimum amount of water that the body needs, next is to have a regular exercise and an active

lifestyle such as involving to Zumba sessions and other activities, avoid pollutants as much as

possible including the second hand smokes, gases, dust, car pollution, etc. Additionally, avoiding

smoking is a must as well in order for us to maintain a healthy respiratory system, smoking can

cause lung diseases through damaging the airways and alveoli which are found in the lungs.

Respiratory system serves a very important role to the human body. It is also quite delicate so it

is important for us to take care of our respiratory system.
