Pangasinan is a province in the Philippines. occupying the northwestern section of Luzon

Its provincial capital is Lingayen and the other cities are Urdaneta, San Carlos, Alaminos.
Pangasinan is also known for its delicious mangoes and ceramic oven-baked Calasiao
puto (native rice cake). Also Pangasinan has been described as a gateway to Northern
Luzon.

The people of pangasinan speak 5 different language which are Pangasinan (official), Bolinao,
Ilocano, Tagalog, English

From Pangasinan Pangasinan, pang- (“for”) + asin (“salt”) + -an (“place marker suffix”)

Pangasinan (from Pangasinan: "land of salt" or "place of salt-making"); it is derived from root
word asin (from Pangasinan: "salt").

The origin of the province’s name sounds fairly familiar, especially if one had visited the
Philippines before and heard the Filipino word for salt or asin in the metropolis. Pangasinan
or panag asinan means “where salt is made” in the vernacular. Owing up to its name, the
province produces high-quality salt where farms of such are located across the province.
