EXT. STREET. AFTERNOON
 
AIDAN walks through his street wearing a bright hoodie. He
bobs his head from side to side slightly to a song in his
head. He looks up as he walks past some posh teens who start
laughing. As they pass behind him he can hear them making
comments.
 
POSHY
(Laughing)
Did you see that guys haircut? Haha!
 
AIDAN sighs, then continues walking.
 
INT. AIDAN’S KIITCHEN. AFTERNOON
 
AIDAN’S MUM finishes sweeping and asks him how his day was. He
nods, looks down and says:
 
AIDAN
Alright.
 
AIDAN’S MUM
Good. What did people think of your haircut?
 
AIDAN
Oh, not much. Although… I think some of the kids at that
private school were laughin’ about it.
 
AIDAN’S MUM
Oh, don’t worry about their silly opinions.
 
AIDAN sighs.
 
AIDAN’S MUM
Seriously, Aidan, don’t worry about what they think. I mean-
it’s hair at the end of the day!
 
Suddenly, all the lights in the house go out. AIDAN’S MUM
shouts with anger. AIDAN rushes to get a torch. He returns and
shines it on his MUM, who sits down and puts her head in her
hands. The camera zooms in on her, then on him.
 
EXT. STREET. AFTERNOON
 
AIDAN counts the money in his wallet, which adds up to around
£5. He then notices two roadmen in dark puffer jackets talking
to his right. One of them hands the other £400 in cash. Close-
shot of the money. One of the roadmen looks at him, and he
walks away.

EXT. OUTSIDE HOUSE. EVENING

AIDAN arrives back at his house, rubbing his hands together to

warm them up. As he goes to enter, he sees his mum inside with
a blanket wrapped around her. She is sobbing. AIDAN clenches
his jaw, shakes his head and storms off back down the street. 

EXT. STREET. EVENING

AIDAN storms down the street, huffing. Suddenly, a roadman

called Mitchell calls to him.

MITCHELL
Aye, Come over here.

AIDAN looks around, too scared to go over.

MITCHELL
I’m not gonna hurt you bro, come over.

AIDAN slowly approaches him, shaking from fear. 

MITCHELL
I know who you are, bruv. I’ve seen you struggling recently.
You’re low on Ps. I can help you. What’s your name?

AIDAN
Aidan

MITCHELL
I’m Mitch. Listen- I can help you. You need money? Join me,
we’ll make money together.

AIDAN looks around with a frightened, concerned look on his

face.

MITCHELL
You need this bruv.

AIDAN thinks about it for a moment, then looks up at MITCHELL

with a more sure look on his face.

AIDAN
Alright. How can I make money?

MITCHELL
Meet me here tomorrow. We’ll make our first bit of cash.
 AIDAN
Calm.

The two depart, and AIDAN heads back towards his house.

INT. AIDAN’S HOUSE. EVENING

AIDAN comes back into his house, where his mum comes into the
corridor with a worried look on her face.

AIDAN’S MUM
Why are you back so late?

A low volume heartbeat sound effect begins to play.

AIDAN
I was just walking slowly.

AIDAN’S MUM
You only went to the corner shop.

AIDAN
Well, I took the long way round.

AIDAN walks past his mum to go upstairs.

AIDAN’S MUM
Well you shouldn’t be walking far at night, Aidan.

AIDAN disappears off to his room. His mum sighs and rubs her
forehead.

EXT. STREET. MIDDAY

AIDAN walks through the street wearing his bright hoodie. He

sees Mitchell who is there waiting for him. 

MITCHELL
(Whacking AIDAN’s shoulder)
The fuck are you wearing cuz? We don’t wanna take any shit
from anyone but how’s that gonna work if you’re wearing that? 

AIDAN
Sorry I-

MITCHELL
Just get new clothes. Right, we’re giving some lesbian the
weekly supply of snow dat our dealer supplies us with. I get
the feeling she’s gonna get pissed off with our high prices,
so we need to be intimidating so she don’t try and mug us off.
MITCHELL takes AIDAN down the street and into a side path
where they meet SAFFRON. 

MITCHELL
Your boys still getting you to do work for dem?

SAFFRON
What you mean fam, I ain’t doing work for dem.

MITCHELL
Aight. Anyway, I got the snow for you.
MITCHELL hands SAFFRON some cocaine, while AIDAN stands and
watches anxiously. SAFFRON pays him £100. She looks at AIDAN
suspiciously.

SAFFRON
Whose this goody goody?

MITCHELL
He’s wiv me. Aight, fuck off.

MITCHELL turns to AIDAN. He hands him £40. AIDAN’s eyes light

up.

AIDAN
Wow!

MITCHELL
(Laughing)
Oi, listen- you need some new clothes fam.

AIDAN half-laughs along with him.

EXT. BACK STREET. DAY

AIDAN, wearing a dark hoodie, follows Mitchell through a back

street cautiously. MITCHELL suddenly turns round.

MITCHELL
Right, I’ll tell you what’s going on. One of my boys keeps
seeing some Peckham yutes walkin around our ends. If we’re not
careful, they might steal our customers and all dat. We’ve
gotta stop em.

AIDAN
What? How?

MITCHELL shows AIDAN his knife. AIDAN gasps.

MITCHELL
You need one too.
 AIDAN
No! No, that’s too far surely!

MITCHELL
Bruv just do it, we’ll only threaten them first, we probably
won’t have to use them.

AIDAn clenches his jaw and takes the knife, with a guilty look
on his face. Two people with puffer jackets and balaclavas
walk down the path. MITCHELL and AIDAN approach them. 

MITCHELL
(Waving his knife)
Fucking Peckham yutes yeah?

PECKHAM YUTE 1
Aye fuck off!

Immediately it gets out of hand as the people in puffer

jackets pull out their knives and try to stab MITCHELL and
AIDAN. PECKHAM YUTE 2 swings his knife at AIDAN, who dodges
twice, before slashing his throat with his own knife. He
stands in shock looking at what he just did. MITCHELL stabs
the other person.

MITCHELL
Fucks sake man. Wasn’t meant to go that far.

AIDAN
Shit.

The two of them run away from the scene, leaving the two
bodies to die on the floor.

INT/EXT. GANG WORK - MONTAGE

(Pride by Nines plays in the background.)

—- AIDAN and MITCHELL get cocaine from their dealer

—- AIDAN and MITCHELL give SAFFRON more cocaine

—- AIDAN comes home with money and his mum gets angry at him
(inaudible). He looks very confused because he thought she’d
be glad.

—- AIDAN counts the money in his hand and MITCHELL puts his
hand on his shoulder.
EXT. FIELD. LATE AFTERNOON

AIDAN and MITCHELL meet each other. MITCHELL has a furious

look on his face.

AIDAN
What’s wrong bruv?

MITCHELL
Fuck sake!

AIDAN
Mitch, what’s wrong?

MITCHELL
That fuckin lesbian robbed our dealer coz our prices were too
high, now he’s blaming it on us.

AIDAN
Why, we didn’t rob him?

MITCHELL
I know we fucking didn’t, Aidan. But he knows bare people,
he’ll have us stabbed if we don’t pay him back.

AIDAN
Shit. What are we gonna do?

MITCHELL paces around frantically. Suddenly, he stops. 

MITCHELL
Come with me.

EXT. STREET. LATER

MITCHEL leads AIDAN down the street, where they see a lady
walking along from behind. 

MITCHELL
She’s bound to have some Ps.

AIDAN
Mitch, are you sure? We don’t know who she is.

MITCHELL
Fuck that, we need the money more than her.

They both approach her, and shout as they reach her. She turns
around, terrified. It turns out to be AIDAN’S MUM. AIDAN
stares in shock.
 MITCHELL
Give us your fucking money, woman.

AIDAN
(Stepping in front of MITCHELL)
No, Mitchell, leave her alone.

MITCHELL
Bruv fuck off.

MITCHELL pushes AIDAN away and advances towards his mum. AIDAN
tackles MITCHELL to the ground. MITCHELL pulls out his knife,
and viciously stabs AIDAN multiple times. He gets up swiftly.

MITCHELL
Fuck!

He runs away. AIDAN’S MUM falls to her son, sobbing over his
dying body. The camera goes black and ‘Berna’ starts playing.

THE END
