Comparison Of Amul Dairy &
Dudh Sagar Dairy
Amul dairy adopt Business Intelligence System, this is new
kind of IT integration to transform and improve the entire
supply chain, right from the cows owned by the farmers to the
consumers residing in the metro. Globally, there is no such co-
operative which involves millions of farmers like Amul do. The
IT project is a role model for dairy co-operative across the
country.

We saw in Dudh Sagar dairy that they receiving raw milk from
nearer villages of Sardhar and in Amul dairy they receiving raw
milk across the Gujarat.

In Amul dairy they do proper entry of each and every farmer

and in Dudh Sagar dairy they use card for the entry of farmers
it means they not use any ERP system for raw milk deliver.

In Amul dairy they filtering raw milk by using line filter.

Reverse osmosis, Nanofiltration, Ultrafiltration, Microfiltration
this process is include in liner filter. But in Dudh Sagar dairy
they only use stainless steel canning funnel which is not give
micro level result.

Amul dairy add vitamin in milk like “vitamin A”, “vitamin D”,
“vitamin E”, “Riboflavin (B2)”, “Niacin”, “Folate”,
“Pyridoxine (B6)”. In Dudh Sagar dairy they only add vitamin
A and vitamin D.

Dudh Sagar Dairy provide milk to Vadodara but they can not
cover nearer area of Vadodara because of lack of supply chain
management. They sale direct milk to retailer but if they use
supply chain management first sale milk to wholesaler then
their brand Dharmaj get more attention from the people.
10
Amul Dairy also manage the customer relationship. They
celebrate word milk day for customer, in store interactive
celebration on festivals and they also launched mobile app for
consumers like “Amul Store Locator” and “Amul Explorer”.

Like Amul Dairy, Dudh Sagar Dairy should also launch a

mobile application for its customers so that they can share daily
information with their customers.

Dudh Sagar dairy does not give attention to their employee.

They have not proper entry of each employee. They have not
any background information of any employee. Dudh Sagar
Dairy does not keep track of whether its employee have any
new skill or not, whether its employee happy or not from the
firm. If those people use ERP ORACLE they can know all the
information related to its employees.

Dudh Sagar Dairy should also promote their brand Dharmaj in

social media so everyone can know the brand because if they
do not promote their brand in any social media then how can
people know about that brand. Now a days all are promote their
brand in social media because in this era everybody uses the
social media.

In short, Dudh Sagar Dairy should adopt the business

intelligence system so they can manage easily supply chain
management, customer relationship management, finance
resource management, human resource management.
