1. TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF.

Hi, I am Tanvi. I am from Surat, Gujarat. I completed my BBA from SDJ

International College which is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. I
completed my twelfth grade from St. Xaviers High School with 84.67% from GSEB

Boards. In my free time, I read poetry or paint, which shows that I am an artistic
person who can also manage free time efficiently. I agree that I love to work hard, but
I am also a social butterfly and can party all day and night long for two days in a row!
I am a great cook too and can stir up my favorite thirty-minute pasta dish in under
fifteen minutes. I am an expert roller skater having performed at several Skate Shows
and won a handful of them. I am also an automobile maniac and a gadget freak.
Honestly, I love this question and can talk for hours about myself but I feel I should
stop now.

2. WHY MBA OR WHY SPECIALIZATION?

I believe that whatever teaching one does at a younger age, he remembers the same
for a longer period of time. This age is the ideal one for me to study about the various
aspects of management and gain in depth knowledge about my desired area of
interest, Marketing. I believe that the process of full-time learning should be a
continuous one. Studying, then doing a job, then again coming back to studying is
something that I believe would be quite difficult to execute. When one is in the zone
of learning, he will be able to learn as much as possible in a continuous process. Learn
as much as you can in one single go, then just remove the ‘L’ from your life and start
earning. Of course, learning never stops, one can pursue courses of interest to further
their knowledge in the specialised area, or even learn about another domain
altogether. But that would be a part time and short-term course, not like this 2-year
MBA programme. This is my reasoning behind doing an MBA directly after
graduation, without first gaining any work experience. The 3 years of my under
graduation, doing BBA, I realised the love and passion that I had for the beautiful
subject of management, not only theoretically, but in a much more practical sense as
well. I participated in a whole host of management events and I also conducted many
of them, which made me realise that this was the right field for me. Through this
MBA programme, I aim to hone my management and communication skills, which
are quite developed from my school and college years. Also, I would love to interact
with people from diverse demographics, trying to understand their own perspectives
about careers and life in general. Accepting and understanding different cultures is
very crucial in today’s times; being in this programme for 2 years would enable me to
do the same. Also, I would like to network with people a lot different from myself,
and also from domains different than my own, so as to have an overall understanding
of the business world.

3. WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS?

I believe that my greatest strength is doing everything that I undertake with utmost
perfection and in a very systematic manner. Doing so gives me a great deal of
satisfaction. In the past, going the extra mile in all my tasks not only led to better
results but also fetched praise from my professors and/or team leaders. I can clearly
remember my time as the HoD of the Intellectual wing Sanskriti in our college fest
Inferno’20, where I encouraged all my team members to follow this practice of being
perfect in all our preparations. As a result of that, when all other wings were in a state
of chaos during the days of the fest, we were quite relaxed and everything went on in
a systematic manner. We even received praise from the Event Co-ordinator for
conducting everything so smoothly. I am adept at being calm under pressure
situations. But over time, I trained myself in keeping a calm head under difficult
situations. I consider myself to be quite good at communication, both written as well
as oral. The English language is not a criterion for intelligence, still it is quite
important to know and understand it in today’s times. I have a strong command over
the same, which enables me to properly communicate what I really want to say to the
listener. While talking about communication, most people focus only on the aspect of
speaking. But listening and understanding is at least as important in communication as
speaking, if not more important. I have been credited with being a good listener by
my friends and teammates and I take extreme pride in this fact.

4. WHY SHOULD I SELECT YOU?

As a fresher, I don't have a lot of work experience but I can adapt and learn new
things that would help this organization improve. After I saw the vacancy and job
requirements, I was excited since I saw myself as a strong candidate for this position
at your company. I have the strength in maintaining the highest quality & standards of
the work and productivity. I can do my work under pressure I think your company is
the only place I can grow.  My skills are- I am good in MS Office, Ms doc, windows
and I am also a great communicator. As a student, I learnt a few things but I want to
learn something new that's why I request you to hire me I assure you that I shall work
with full devotion and sincerity. Raising staff motivation; Good organization skill;
Dealing under pressure using all types to solve problems and planning ahead. If you
hire me, so I'll give my best.

5. WHERE YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?

5-10 years down the line, I see myself as part of the middle management, possibly in
the role of Brand Manager of an FMCG product. By implementing the learnings that I
obtained in my MBA as well as the initial work experience that I had, I would be able
to understand the ins and outs of what is required to develop and maintain the brand
equity of the company. I aim to head a team of employees as eager and enthusiastic as
myself, and use the principles of motivation and leadership that I studied in the past
and developed over time, so as to ensure that all our project goals are being met. In
the long term, I see myself heading an FMCG company, still working as hard as I did
as a fresher, still as enthusiastic and passionate as I was at the start of my career.
Moving up the organisational chain, I wish to develop and maintain amicable
relationships with all the people of the organisation. While doing all this, I would be
clear on maintaining a proper work life balance. I would want there to be a situation
in my life, where I keep on working because I want to, not because I have to. Also, in
the latter stages of my career, I wish to share the knowledge and wisdom that I have
attained throughout my career, in a teaching capacity, which would be done
occasionally.

6. WHAT TO ASK THE RECRUITER?

Few questions that we can ask the recruiter post our interview are:
 About the role – beyond what was said on campus
 Performance evaluation
 Career progression
 Anything about specific company
 Any preparation you can do in the next few months
 Interviewers’ association with the company/organisation
 what the interviewer like if the rapport is built during the interview
