1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In this era globalization, after the COVID-19 pandemic, The whole word is affected by
money, and many people started to do small business to gain monthly income. People
become more interested in business path and started looking forward to joining it and trying
to open up a business. Without business, nation’s economies would be much more miniature
and weaker than they are. In order to be a successful entrepeneur, we need to relate this
case study and apply it to our business strategy.

Hence, this assignment required me to sell a product with real word business
environment. I decided to be a dropshipper for “Alia Scarves” and my target market are
student and lecturer. I choose to do hybrid business that provide postage/charge on delivery
(COD) and pick-up service around UiTM Arau, Perlis. For the starting of the business, I
prepared by do marketing in WhatsApp Status, Instagram Stories and Telegram. The goal of
using social media to advertise the product to reach out my target audience. This way can
make they known-well about my product as well as can encourage all the hijabis to try out
the scarves. The price were very reasonable and affordable beyond its quality. I also provide
free gift such as safety brooch pin for each purchase of my product. I will make sure my
customers satisfied and happy with their purchase. Based on my total outcome from this
project, I gain RM96 for the profit in a month. Suprisingly, I have sold 25 pieces of the
scarves in one month with a total RM198.00.

Throughout the process, I was able to get a experience of what it’s like to be an
entrepreneur. This is because I had a few hurdles along the route, but I fortunately solved all
of them. I also learned and try new things as a result of this endeavour. Eventhough I had
some doubts about my talents at first, the result of this project made me want to delve more
into business towards the end of the day since the feeling was fulfilling.

3.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Alia Scarves is a business that sells hijabs and accessories intended to provide modest yet
stylish options for Muslim women. The company’s accessories are focused on providing
options for Muslim women with a product range focused on modern hijabs, enabling Muslim
women to wear the hijab with confidence and changing how they shop for their everyday
needs and special occasions. Alia Scarves produce the best material and high quality fabric.
The hijabs selection will be ranged from comfortable to trendy look. Most of the hijabs
provided in the shop is for women in average of 18-45 and above. Alia Scarves sells various
types of hijabs such as shawl, bawal, and inner scarf. It will be a favorite hijab among
teenagers, household and hijabis women for their everyday looks. I interested to be a part of
Alia Scarves by joining a dropshipper. This is because the price of the product are very
affordable and also can get a bundle price for those buy a lot of hijabs. Many hijabis
especially student are likely to buy the bawal basic because it’s quite cheap and affordable
to them. The price of Bawal Basic is RM9.90 which is the worth price whereby the scarf is
made from the high-quality material. The pricing of the various types of Bawal and Shawls
range from RM9.90 to RM40. Other than that, I want to gain some experience in selling
products as a first-timer developed in a business world. The team also very kind and helpful
in guiding me throughout this successful project.

 CUSTOMER SEGMENTS
For the business, we produce hijabs and accessories intended to provide modest yet
stylish options for Muslim women. The best material and comfortable scarves that we
produce can enhance their confidence and beauty for hijabis out there. Hence, the
target audience for our products are we focus on women such as teenagers,
housewife, career women, lecturer and especially students. It is because women
have their own style and want to follow the trend to fulfill their needs and have
various type of tutorial of hijabs.

 VALUE PROPOSITION
We want our customers to realize that our product is made from the good quality
fabrics and materials. The feedback from customers said that features of our
materials and design are meet the customer needs which is the scarves are easy to
shape. It requires less effort to shape the scarf especially Bawal Basic. Besides, the
price also affordable beyond its high quality. The pricing of the various types of Bawal
and Shawls range from RM9.90 to RM40 making them very affordable for students to
purchase. I also provide free gift for each purchase. I will make sure that customers
will happy buying my product.

 CHANNELS
The customers that interested with our scarves, they can grab their beloved scarves
on my social media platform which is Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram. I promise
to respond quickly for my beloved customer to place the order. They also can buy
direct from the website or can go buy in the shop. I also promote the scarves to my
friends by showing my poster to them. It can makes them very excited to try out my
product.

 CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP
We will provide Customer Services and Care which means we can hear feedback
and opinion from the customers. If they get the defect items or the colour that they
received did not same during the order, we will guarantee to make refund and
replace with the new items. We will bear all the losses and cost which is postage and
the scarf. Our customers are always right. Anything that they feel unsatisfied about
our product, we will fix the problems and replace it with another one.

 REVENUE STREAMS
For this revenue streams, the customers can do transaction online banking because
it has the date and time when the order are submit. If they recceived defect items,
they can inform to us and we will replace it with another one within 3 days after the
purchase date. Other than that, we get revenue from sales promotion for clearance
stock before we release new design.

 KEY ACTIVITIES
In order to start my business, I will do marketing by advertising my product on social
media. Other than that, to fullfill and satisfied my customers I will do research what
my customers’ needs. I will find and identify the design based on customer feedback
and will improve the design and materials align with current style and preference for
hijabis out there.

 KEY RESOURCES
The company have their own material industry that contributes with others supplier
that provides good and high material for the business’ product. Besides, human
resources also crucial to make this business successful with their own idea creativity
and knowledge-intensive on how to make the design for attract women out there
especially teenagers. The production and human resources learn give huge
contribution because they need to hardworking and cooperate to make this business
successful.

 KEY PARTNERS
I interested in joining to be a dropshipper under Alia Scarves. These team members
are to helping hand needed to succeed in areas that would be ineffecient for the
company to take care by itself. It also can reduce risk in a competitive environment
characterized by uncertainty. Besides, I also want gain some experience in real
business world.

 COST STRUCTURE
As a dropshipper, my cost only focus at marketing and delivery fees. This is because
I did not keep the stock with me, im just promoting the scarves. If I wanted to have
many customers, I will pay for advertising on Facebook Ads and Instagram Ads to
gain more customers and profit.

6.0 EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING – STUDENT EXPERIENCE

During the one-month period of running this business activity of selling Alia Scarves, I
realized that I have learned business knowledge that I did not know all this time. To be
honest, it is quite difficult to work and adapt to this environment, but it still increase my
knowledge and opens the way I think and act in the future. This clearly help me in applying
all the knowledge that I have learned during the subject of entrepreneurship into my
business. So, I can know what I have understood during the learning session. For example, I
learned how to do marketing and sales, how to advertise using social media platform,
manage time, find the strengths and weaknesses of my product and service, and choose the
right target market.
When conducting transactions, I found that good communication skills are very
necessary when interacting with customers. Here I also got to know many people of various
ages and indirectly gives an oppurtunity to know new people. This business also gives a big

impact on myself to be more confident and gain experience when facing customers’ attitude.
In a business, a friendly attitude, speak politely, and good behavior will make the transaction
process between sellers and buyers easier.Therefore, dicipline is an important aspect that
needs to be emphasized that will reflect a good impression of the seller and the produt. Here
I am also fully responsible for what actions and decisions I make in this business. So, I need
to be wise and more careful in making the right decisions to ensure that no problems will
occur. To be honest, I am very busy managing orders received from customers but I realize
that this activity prevents me from wasting time with unnessary things and I can fill my free
time especially on weekdays with better activities in addition to gain side income for myself.
This activity is a new experience for me to enter the entrepreneurship field. Although in
a short period of time, various bitter and sweet experiences that I can feel while working. Not
only that, I can also feel the satisfaction and joy when I see my customers are excited and
love to wear the scarves. It makes them looks very comfortable and beautiful with their own
style. The positive words from every feedback given indirectly encouraged me to be more
enthusiastic to continue this business despite the end of the project.
At the end of this project, I acknowledge that this business really gives a big positive
impact on myself and changed my daily life activities compared to normal days. The income
from this business has become an additional financial source that gives me the opportunity
to buy the things I want without asking for money from my parents. I really enjoyed
developing myself in entrepenuership field at the same time give me some experience.

7.0 CONCLUSION

In short, this business has changed me a lot and the way I think. Throughout this
business is done at the university, I think that this business can continue after seeing every
positive  feedback from customers including UiTM students. This is because, my position for
the activities carried out is to ensure that my customers are satisfied and happy with my
products. The goal of finding clients not only among UiTM students was also unexpectedly
successful. This indirectly changed my perspective on how entrepreneurship works. 

After running my own business and end in the end of this assignment, like I said, it’s
totally changed my perspective in entrepreneurship. Undoubtedly, at first, I had a poor
perspective and anxiety before starting the business. I feel this field of entrepreneurship is
something new for me. But on the other hand, I found a lot of good things that I could learn
throughout my business. There are many potentials and benefits that can be highlighted by

entrepreneurs with a more positive outlook. For example, it made me more curious about the
entrepreneurial world, more willing to explore and eager to take initiative. This made me
more open to new ideas, relationships with new people and trying new things. 

Overall, this business has opened my eyes about many things especially important 
aspects of entrepreneurship. Obviously, I gained knowledge that can be used for the future. 
In my view, all parties in terms of parents, teachers, society, and government need to play a
role and responsibility in ensuring that the current generation is aware about
entrepreneurship.  The younger generation now needs to be more exposed to
entrepreneurship by participating in entrepreneurship programs since elementary school.
With that initiative, we can produce more intelligent young entrepreneurs who will produce
the best products and services that will  be used by all of us and provide a bright future
change in our daily life.
