1st year college / BPED 1-1A
1. What art form has changed something in your life? Why? Account for the experience.
Basically, the love for art will change many things in a person’s life. In my opinion
if you are an artist and just created anything that might be simple and might feel
not that great to anyone else but you as a person has achieved it by yourself and
you can be proud of whatever you have created. that’s something you made and it
will give you a feeling of happiness and a great achievement. so even that small
artwork you have created will bring you satisfaction and a sense of relief.
2. Does art always have function? Why? Support your response. Provide your own example.
Arts always have a function but they cannot be assigned since the function of an
art form depends on its context. Example Architecture, crafts such as welding and
woodworking, interior design, and industrial design are all types of art that serve
physical functions.
3. If an Artwork ceased to have function, will it remain an art? Why?
Yes. In my opinion, art is always functional as long as it has value to a person or
to the community. Art stops becoming Art if it is ignored by people. There is a
saying that "bad art is better than ignored art". It means that bad art is still art
because there is still a reaction to it. That reaction makes it open to interaction
and the discovery of other functions. While ignored art becomes nothing more
than a regular object because the audience loses interest and disregards the
existence of the art.
