What is 4IR? Many of us may already have a pretty good knowledge about it.

There’s been a lot of talk

about the Fourth Industrial Revolution, what exactly it is, and how it will radically change our lives. The
Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, is radically changing the way we work and live.
And while keeping up with the pace of technological change can feel overwhelming, costly and
potentially insecure at times, it’s critical that manufacturers increase connectivity and adopt digital
technologies to make better informed, data-driven decisions.

That means, as students of engineering, we must be ready for 4IR. So, we will have to learn how to keep
up with this revolutionary journey and how we are going to survive. On this regard, Robotics club & IEEE
Student Branch of PCIU have been working relentlessly from the founding day till now.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. A very good morning to each one of you assembled here. I, Jahed
Bin…/ Jahedul Islam…, department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of Port City
International University am taking the privilege of hosting this event “workshop on ‘Skilled
Manpower Development Program Based on 4IR" organized by Robotics club & IEEE Student
Branch of PCIU in association with IQAC. It’s an immense pleasure to welcome you all to this
wonderful program.

Before starting off today’s program, I would like to seek permission from our honorable Vice
Chancellor Sir to permit us to proceed further.
Thank you for your permission, sir.

(I would like to request all the dignitaries to kindly occupy the seat on the dais.).

The Fourth Industrial Revolution is knocking at the door. The need for talent-based professions
such as programmers will increase. Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), etc. will
increase the demand for skilled people. There is a shortage of skilled programmers in our
country. So, we'll need to create skilled programmers.

In the developed world, there is a lot of research on blockchain, AI, robotics, driverless cars, 3D printing.
All of these will have an impact on our country. So far, the only workforce we deliver in the world market
is cheap labour. Robotics, AI may cause us to lose this advantage. On the other hand, the demand for
people with technical knowledge and skills, including computer programmers and data analysts, will
increase.

At this time, I would like to introduce all the present guests who will be glorifying today’s
program. We have our honorable Professor Dr. Nurul Anwar Sir, Vice-Chancellor, Port City
International University with us. Honorable Professor Dr. Engineer Mafzal Ahmed Sir, Dean
Faculty of science & Engineering, Honorable Professor Dr. Quazi Delwar Hossain Sir,
Coordinator, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
And finally, we have our Keynote Speaker of today’s program, Mr. Rana Barua, Intelligent
Transportation System (ITS) Engineer, New York State Transportation Department (R-8), New York, USA.

Now, without taking much of your time, with due respect I am requesting to our honorable sir
Deepak Kumar Chowdhury, chairman, department of Electrical & electronics Engineering, to
encourage the students with his inspiring words like sir always does.
On behalf of all, I would like to express my gratitude to honorable sir.

Now, I would invite our revered sir, Coordinator Department of

Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Professor Dr. Quazi Delwar Hossain Sir to oblige us with
a few words of encouragement.

I would like to express my gratitude to honorable sir.

This time, please welcome Professor Dr. Engineer Mafzal Ahmed Sir, Dean Faculty of science
&
Engineering, Professor & Chairman Department of textile Engineering to oblige us with a few
words of encouragement.

Thank you, sir.

Now is the time to request our honorable Vice Chancellor Sir Professor Dr. Nurul Anwar, to
deliver a few words of Encouragement.

Thanks a lot sir for giving us your valuable time.

We will now, move into the keynote session. For this, I would like to invite Mr. Rana Barua,

Skilled manpower is indispensable for welcoming the Fourth
Industrial Revolution
Industry 4.0 is more than just a flashy catchphrase. A confluence of trends and technologies promises to
reshape the way things are made.

Gary Coleman, Global Industry and Senior Client Advisor, Deloitte Consulting

“The Fourth Industrial Revolution is still in its nascent state. But with the swift pace of change
and disruption to business and society, the time to join in is now.”

“Technologies that are emerging today will soon be shaping the world tomorrow and well into
the future – with impacts to economies and to society at large. Now that we are well into the
Fourth Industrial Revolution, it’s critical that we discuss and ensure that humanity is served by
these new innovations so that we can continue to prosper.”

- Mariette DiChristina, Editor-in-Chief of Scientific American, and chair of the Emerging

Technologies Steering Committee

“The Fourth Industrial Revolution is not about new Apps or new technologies. It is about a new
era, new ways of thinking and new ways of doing business.”
― Nicky Verd, Disrupt Yourself Or Be Disrupted

“In a world where everything is connected, where machines can talk, learn and mimic humans, a
world where machines are employable, where performance is at its peak, innovation at its finest
and job loss at its highest. There is only one spot left to transform and that is YOU.”
― Nicky Verd, Disrupt Yourself Or Be Disrupted

Finally, we would invite our club members & new comers not to hesitate; share your excitement,
visions, and joy with engineers worldwide.
Lastly, we wish, this day will keep on coming; till then,
