A sexual act performed prior before the marriage is referred to as premarital sex.

The main factor that increases the chance of developing sexually transmitted diseases

(STDs) is unprotected and risky sexual behavior. Curiosity, Herd Mentality, Hormones,

Electronic Media, Ignorance, Peer Pressure, and No Parenting Guidance are the causes

of unprotected and risky sex among people.

Furthermore, people chose pleasure over potential negative outcomes, which

leads to them having risky and unprotected premarital sex. Some people lack the

opportunity to receive a thorough education, therefore they are unaware of the

consequences of engaging in risky and unprotected premarital sex. Sometimes they

don't care about the consequences of engaging in unprotected, dangerous premarital

sex. They only think after they act. allowing pleasure, or should I say want, to consume

one. Lust is one of the fatal sins because of this.

Many today's young people engaged in their first premarital intercourse without

using a condom or any other form of contraception to prevent pregnancy or sexually

transmitted diseases, despite years of information campaigns on the risks of STDs and

unexpected pregnancies from unprotected sex.

The 2013 Young Adult Fertility Study (YAFS 4) conducted by the Demographic

Research & Development Foundation and the University of the Philippines Population

Institute shows that 32 percent of young Filipinos between the ages 15 to 24 have had

sex before marriage. Of these, 78 percent reported that their first sexual encounter was

unprotected: 84 percent among young women and 73 percent among young men.

We can see that young people's premarital sexual engagement is increasing, but

that it has also developed into other types of sexual activity. The fact that most of these

activities are unprotected, however, is more concerning.
