Mobile Based Application

Abstract -Technological advancement has led
to the growth and development of nations.
Though it is so, contemplating with the other
countries the level of using the technology for
the quotidian events in our country is less. So
here this research introduces a mobile
application which is capable of tracking and
monitoring the health issues in the society and
send relevant notifications to the government
health department. The mobile application was
developed using the react framework and it can
be used in Android and IOS. The uniqueness of
this system is, the users would be able to
upload the images and the locations related for
those health issues and also it gives direct
access to the representatives of the government
health department. The users only have to send
their correct location and upload it to the
system and the system gets the information
about the exact location by the user and the
location of their posts. So, that the users only
have to download this application and upload
the photos and videos and also the users can
share the others posts too. Through this
application, people can attain benefits and the
help of the Municipal Council. Really this health
stats system, can save the valuable time of the
people and they can solve their issues as
possible.

I. INTRODUCTION
According to the research reports nowadays
garbage problem is a common issue in
Srilanka. In todays increasingly world, it is
difficult to imagine the absence of waste. Waste
generation rising in 2016 alone 7000 MT of
solid waste per a day. In srilanka, an effective
waste management policy is long overdue. With
increasing urbanization and population growth,
annual waste generation, this garbage problem
turns on.
People haven’t a time to dispose garbage
because they are very busy with their own
works and the other reason is people haven’t a
proper place to throw garbage. In urban areas
people throw garbage to roads, lands. Because
of this pollution and garbage problem, health
issues are turn on. Dengue is a one of very
dangerous health issue.
We have to avoid this problem to safe
ourselves, safe the world too. The main
objective of our research is avoiding the health
issues with a mobile application. By this
application people can connect and send
relevant notifications to the health department.
And also, this research creates an efficient
system to determine the health problems of
everywhere without arrival of the people to
meet health department or government to
reduce their issues. By this mobile application
people can discuss about health issues, they
can conscious about the health problems in
society and also, they can imitate some ways
and means to avoid these health issues. There
isn’t a previous mobile application like this
which helps to avoid major threat in Srilanka.
This is also important, both Android and IOS
versions can use this mobile application.
A. GPS Tracking
GPS tracking is the surveillance of location to
track the location of an entity remotely using of
the Global Positioning System (GPS). In
various cases, GPS tracking is used. A system
which was detected dengue patients has been
explained by Emmenual Reddy, Sarnil Kumar,
Nicholas Rollings, and Rohitash Chandra in
2015. In the last decades Dengue is a major
health concern in Fiji with the number of dengue
outbreaks occurring. Mostly Dengue is
transmitted from mosquito bites. Also, early
recognition of Dengue is very prominent to
prevent spreading. Currently diagnosing is very
slow and time consuming which is done by
hospitals. Therefore, it is important to monitor
the spread of Dengue since no vaccine cure
currently available [1].

II. Background and Related works.

There are so many ways of environmental

pollution which is subdivided to three categories
as Air, Land and Water. As a result of the
development of technology, it was influenced to
make polluted environment. This is a prominent
way for entering. Thus, the effect of
environmental pollution leads to producing lot of
non-communicable diseases as Dengue.

Those responsibilities are under the hands of

the Department of Health and Security to take
an action for preventing the increment of
pollution. If there is a proper way to connect
with an authority directly, that will be the best
solution to take an action immediately.

As a solution to the above-mentioned problem,

introducing and implementing a mobile
application will be help to reduce the gap
between people and the authorities in order to
maintain and build the bridge of connection.

The research was carried out with following

main functions

 GPS Tracking
 Data Report
 Image Processing
B. Data Report

According to Sandra Durcevic an overview of

data report is an evaluation tool. Further past
present and future business information can be
assessed using this evaluation tool while
keeping way of the overall performance of the
company. Various data are being combined
with it and it can be used to make decisions [2].

III. Development and Methodology

Since the project based on users
and had distribute a questionnaire and

C. Image Processing
Health Stats Design architecture show

obtain efficiently and accurately reading of the
electricity digital meter based on image
processing. To acquire the image of the
electricity meter, the black camera of the mobile
phone is used in this system. Also
disadvantages of method of manual electric
meter reading were being stimulated to build
automated system. since man power and time
consumption rate is higher in manual process.
Therefore, sequence of image processing
functions was being applied to automatically
extract and recognize the digits of the meter
reading images from electricity meters in Saudi
Arabia [3].

This application uses the Agile method in

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
methodology. The reason is when the
application developing it is risky and has some
complex scope. Also, this method reduces the
time schedule by presenting the agile to the
supervisor on several times and it reduces the
workload.

Following are the operations of Health Stats
application.
a. Login and Registration
b. Upload Posts
c. Display Report
a. Login and Registration
Users are new to the application then
they must register to the application after
creating new account. And users are already
registered to the application can login in to the
application by using their username and
password.
b. Upload Post
Users can upload their photos and
videos under category of Dengue, Garbage and
others creating a new post. And they must
include the locations of photo or a video
uploading. Other users can comment or like to
the other posts and they can share the posts
only in this application.
c. Display Report
In every month end the application display the
report using users’ posts. And every user can
download the report and do some valuable
things to the society to protect the environment
and reduce the spreading diseases. And also,
Health Department can access to the
application and they can get an idea about
referring the report.
IV. Results
In this application visible for every one as
Android users and iOS users too. Every user
can edit their profiles, but no one can message
with other users because then this application
same as other normal mobile applications. But
they can share others posts and they can
comment to the other posts too. Admin can
delete others accounts and if any user doing
some unauthorized things in this application
admin give a warning message to the user for
the 1st time.

This is the registration interface, before user’s
login into the application they must fill all these
fields correctly.

If users done the registration and login parts,

then they can access the main interface and
they can see other users’ posts.
In this interface users can access other users’
exact location of their posts. And if they want to
search any other place, then it can do in this
interface.

User want to upload their photos or video to this

application, then they must create a post with

the location of the photo and video and they can
the report. And they can get an image of what
remove their posts in this interface.

and they can help peoples using this report.
V. Discussion
The problems got while implementing the
mobile application and how the research have
led to solve those problems are discussed
under this subsection along with the
components and specifications deviated from
the project as showed in the proposal and the
reasons for those deviations.
During this project I had to face
some problems while implementing the Health
Stats mobile based environment pollution
application. The laptop got slow while
developing the project using Android Studio.
And then I inserted an external RAM. The
incorrect estimation of time while developing
the application caused an increase of stress
level. Sometimes the project was not going in
right path because some requirements were
changing. Lack of up-to-date technology
caused too complexity to implement the
application. Gathering reliable details was also
a huge problem that I have to face during this
project
VI. Conclusion
I am hope to design mobile application to avoid
garbage problem and common health issues
(Dengue) for both iOS and Android version
users. Every user can use this mobile
application to solve these health issues with the
connection in Health Department.
Mainly environment lovers and eco- friends can
use this application without any barriers and
they can do a better thing to the society using
this application. In this research mobile
application can comment users’ thoughts and
some valuable ideas without any barriers. May
be this mobile application is very essential to
environment lovers to protect environment and
also some other organization’s or clubs. And
this application provides a clear report to the
users for get an idea about what are the other
peoples facing problems in srilanka.
In every human product and innovations there
are limitations and Health- Stats also having
limitations for develop specific platform to the
mobile users, if users not responding to the
fields they have to fill then application not work
and mainly application not work without internet
connection and server would be work properly
to get a good outcome with this application.
When it comes for the future works, this
application hope to develop to support other
mobile platforms and develop a website for
access to the health department directly. And
trying to insert Sinhala language as secondary
language in this application.
