Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, students should be able to:-

1. Interpret the basic management theories of archives and manuscripts. (A2)


2. Demonstrate the processes and techniques of manuscripts acquisition,
arrangement, description and access. (P3)
3. Analyze the important of manuscripts as one of the primary resources for the
preservation of national heritage and scholarly research. (C4)

Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts


and principles of manuscripts and personal papers management. At the same time to
distinguish between an archive and a manuscript. The content of this course includes
policies, standards, procedures, processes and techniques of manuscript appraisal.
Acquisition, arrangement, description, access and services, outreach programs as
well as ethics

Assignment 1 : Manuscript transliteration


Value : 30% (group of 3-4 students)

Assignment 2 : Critical review


Value : 20% - Individual

Assignment 3 : Written report based on your visit virtual museum from any of the
