Micro-Project Report
“Parallel Combination Of Resistor”

1. Brief Introduction:-
While the impulse turbine gets the kinetic energy and the momentum transferred by the water
mass of a high-pressure jet, a reaction turbine is subjected to the pressure or potential energy
generated by the weight of water at the bottom of the head working on one side of its blades
called pressure side

2. Aim of the Micro-Project:-

To know about Impulse Turbine And Reaction turbine

3. Course Outcomes integrated :-

We understand in detail about the Impulse Turbine And Reaction turbine .

4. Actual Procedure Followed:-

First we collected and understood the information about the Impulse Turbine And
Reaction turbine tried to explain it in this report.

5. Skills Developed / Learning Out of this Micro-Project:-

We learn about the Impulse Turbine And Reaction turbine .

INTRODUCTION OF IMPULSE TURBINE AND REACTION TURBINE .

What is Impulse Turbine ?

An impulse turbine has fixed nozzles that orient the steam flow into high speed jets. These
jets contain significant kinetic energy, which is converted into shaft rotation by the bucket-like
shaped rotor blades, as the steam jet changes direction.

DIAGRAM WITH WORKING:-

What is the working of impulse turbine?

Impulse turbines are defined as turbines in which high-velocity jets of water or steam collide
with the blades of the turbine to rotates the turbine and produce electricity using this
winding. The impulse turbine is so named because it acts on the impulse force created for the
striking blade of the water jet.
What is Reaction Turbine?

A reaction turbine is constructed of rows of fixed blades and rows of moving blades. The
fixed blades act as nozzles. The moving blades move as a result of the impulse of steam received
(caused by a change in momentum) and also as a result of expansion and acceleration of the
steam relative to them.

DIAGRAM WITH WORKING :-

In reaction turbine, vector sum of impulsive and reactive force strikes the blades fixed to the
rotor. 2) Steam expands completely when it passes through the nozzles and its pressure remains
constant. and rest on the rotor blades. 3) Blades are symmetrical shape.
Conclusion:-

the power rating of a parallel connection is higher than that of a series connection. For
two identical resistors . For more than two resistors, the analysis would be similar. Since the
power rating in a parallel connection is higher, so is the energy consumed, according to the
equation: Energy = PΔt.
