Introduction We are a Well Engineering, Operations and Project Management Consultancy Company based in Chennai, India under a Joint Venture between Ajapa, IPS Australasia (IPS) and Down Hole Solutions (DHS), USA.

A brief introduction about Ajapa AJAPA was originally established in February 2006 by a small group of highly qualified oil and gas industry professionals in India who have worked for various major, medium and small oil and gas exploration and production companies, drilling contractors and service companies in senior technical and managerial roles in India and Overseas (especially Far East and Middle East). The Company was formed with a vision to provide Worldclass engineering and project management services to Clients in India and Worldwide. Currently negotiations ongoing with projects in Myanmar, Turkmenistan and Yemen with potential clients. In addition, Ajapa in combination with Petrocons (for marketing and organising), runs a drilling school for varous trainings in upstream oil and gas industry with 4 trainings per year or as appropriate.

The Joint Venture


In order to enhance the capabilities and the capacity to provide wide range of services so that Clients are serviced with expanded technical support, experience and at any time 24 hrs a day, a Joint Venture between Ajapa, IPS (Australasia) and Down Hole Solutions (DHS) was formed in April 2006. With a vast experience and understanding of the Oil and Gas business, our Group is highly capable of delivering innovative, cost effective, high quality, safe and world class engineering and operational practices to E and P Companies.

A brief introduction about IPS Australasia IPS Australasia is an Independent Well Engineering Consultancy based in Perth, Western Australia, and have been providing Project Management Services to the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry in Australia and overseas since 1999. Prior to this, the principals worked internationally for major oil and gas exploration and production companies in senior technical and managerial roles. With successfully executed projects onshore in Australia, Albania, Bolivia, Cuba, Gabon, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Tanzania, and Tunisia, and offshore Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mediterranean, Myanmar, and the UK, the Company has grown to become a sector innovator, cost-effectively introducing world-class well engineering practices to many parts of the world. In Perth, IPS is a team of around 20 drilling and completions professionals. This allows them to keep the overheads in check, and enable to deliver a dynamic, flexible and responsive service to the clients. As an integrated drilling and completions engineering consultancy, IPS has a depth of expertise that is hard to match outside major operating companies. The principal members of the management team each have close to 20 years experience in drilling and completion engineering, operations, and management, gained with the largest international operators worldwide. IPS combines this experience with those of the staff and long-term associate consultants who add a considerable wealth of onsite and officebased operations supervision. A brief introduction about DHS Down Hole Solutions (DHS) is primarily a company formed to provide technical solutions to the upstream oil and gas industry to overcome specific issues pertaining to a particular field either for down hole equipment, tools, engineering or operations. Currently DHS is involved in

developing some specialty tools to overcome certain down hole torque and drag problems experienced worldwide. A highly qualified and skilled technical team is being developed to form a Technical Excellence Centre within DHS whose primary aim is to develop innovative, cost effective and efficient solutions to down hole problems that cost lot of money to Operators worldwide.

Ajapas Strengths
Ajapa has the technical and managerial capability to deliver complete well construction services. Ajapa has direct experience of planning and executing wells in every drilling environment and aims to earn a reputation for best in class performance and to establish itself as a leader in the provision of engineering and operational services including the provision of high quality personnel to Clients worldwide. The success of Ajapas well construction process will be based on an unrelenting commitment to thorough planning and focus on performance. Ajapa is also highly qualified in risk assessment and management of risks for difficult and complicated wells. Ajapa is committed to ensure that the well construction process is carried out with a complete understanding of the performance management and Clients goals and objectives. Our group is specialised in drilling, testing and completion operations. We also plan to include sub-surface and projects (onshore and offshore facilities) personnel. The experience span is wide ranging from onshore and offshore operations including deep water, remote location and fast track projects. We have an integrated knowledge and experience ranging from office based engineering, supervision, project management to field management of operations. We are capable of providing services to set up and implement HSE and operational policies and procedures. We also specialise in Asset Management from concept to completion including facilities for the offshore and onshore with additional support from external members where needed. We also specialise in working with small Operators where no drilling infra-structure is present to provide complete team of engineering, operations, safety and management personnel and deliver concept to completion with high quality results.

Some Important Features


Personnel Despite the current tight market conditions and in a short time of less than 12 months from establishing the Comapny, Ajapa has a strength of 16 highly qualified (each + 20 years of experience) drilling and operations personnel deployed in various projects. We are already in the process of increasing our strength to around 24 within the next 3 months subject to successful contract awards for 3 international projects for which final negotiations are ongoing. In addition to Ajapas own strength of personnel, we also have the technical and manpower support from out Partner IPS, Australia. IPS has a strength of more than 25 personnel and provides synergy and technical support to all our activities.

Ajapa has an understanding with SIKOM, a highly reputed man power consultancy company in Malaysia and SIKOM brings in a lot of experience and manpower strength to rely on the right personnel for our client needs. Hence we have a network through which we will be able to serve our clients across the globe very efficiently. Project Management Ajapa successfully bagged complete project management contract for 4 onshore blocks in Nigeria from Sterling group of Companies. Although started with a project management of a single block for drilling onshore wells in June 2006, today Sterling has provided Ajapa the responsibility of bringing commercial oil production for 4 onshore blocks. Ajapa has deployed 11 consultants on these projects and the strength is expected to increase to 16 shortly. Ajapa is carrying out project management for another esteemed client Jubilant for their onshore project in Mehsana, India. Ajapa has the complete team of Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Engineer and Drilling Supervisors on this project. Ajapa manages Cambay, India drilling campaigns for our esteemed client Heramec Limited as Project Management Consultants and had already completed a well. A second well is planned in June 2007 and in addition Ajapa is contracted to drill another 5 wells in 2007/2008. Engineering and Operations Management With Ajapas well engineering and field operations management abilitiy, we serve our esteemed clients Hindustan Oil Exploration Limited and Geo-Petrol with drilling engineers and drilling supervisors. Remote Engineering Consultancy Ajapa has developed an unique concept of providing a highly cost effective and efficient engineering and managerial advise and consultancy. For few clients, Ajapa has already implemented this solution. Basically Ajapas network of team will provide engineering consultancy from remote locations on a 24 hr x 7 days basis through e-mails or telephones on continuous or need basis. This saves Clients significant money to deploy a team in their office and serves their purpose especially during the pre-planning stage. A monthly fixed sum is charged for these services. Rig Inspection and Due Diligence Ajapa understood the requirement of inspection and evaluation of rigs and developed a cost effective inspection solution to various companies at international standards. Ajapa has already inspected around 4 rigs for various clients and the gradullay Ajapa is planning to expand this service worldwide.

Drilling Rig Contractor Business

Ajapa understands the drilling rig contractor business thoroughly both from the Operators perspective and from the Contractors view and hence it is in an unique position to provide solutions, advise and co-ordination for any new company which wishes to set up the drilling contractor business and also to existing companies to improve and enhance their strengths and capabilities strategically. Ajapa is already consulting for British Oil and Gas Exploration Limited, Dubai, Tuff Drilling, India and ITS Global, UK to set up their rig business and portfolio. In addition, Ajapa is consulting with them for developing and acquiring contracts by providing technical support and advise. Training The current oil and gas market requires efficient and effective training programmes both technical and non-technical. Ajapa understands the criticality of a good training service and has ventured in to training schools with Petrocons, a HR and Training Company in Delhi, India. Ajapa has already conducted 3 training schools and is planning to conduct 3 more in 2007. A full pledged training calendar is expected to be released for 2008 within 3 months.

Countries of Operations and Expected Expansion


Ajapa is already working in India and Nigeria. Ajapa is working on expanding the areas of operations to Yemen, Turmenistan, Myanmar, Egypt and Libya.

Organisation
Ajapa was founded in February 2006 and has the registered office and head quarters in Chennai, India. With the JV set up between Ajapa, IPS and DHS, we will have offices or representations in Singapore, Perth in Australia and Dubai, The JV is managed under a highly qualified and professional Board consisting of 5 Directors with J. Muthu Kumar (his brief career history is attached) as Managing Director. The other Directors are T. Uma Maheswar (Ajapa), Mr. Andre DeBiogio (IPS, Australasia) and G.V. Anand (DHS). Brief resumes of Kumar, Andre and Uma are given below for reference. J. Muthu Kumar Chief Project Management Consultant Kumar has more than 23 years of experience in drilling, testing and completion working in India and abroad. He has a post graduate engineering degree in Chemical Engineering with Petroleum as specialisation from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. He joined Oil India Limited in 1985 as Drilling Engineer to work in various

onshore fields in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh (in Kharsang field). In 1987 he joined Aban Loyd Chiles Offshore Limited and worked in various senior technical positions for 5 years in their jack-up rigs across East and West coasts of India. He learned his extensive experience in running, maintaining and operating rigs including inspection and audits during this time and rig safety. He then joined Essar Oil Limited for a short period of six months to work on a turnkey project in Gujarat, India and then was transferred by Essar to Oman to work with PDO (Shell) as Well Site Drilling Engineer and Assistant Drilling Supervisor as part of Essars contract with PDO. He worked in various fields in South, North and Central Oman for 2 years and in 1995 moved to office as Senior Drilling Engineer and was deputed to PDO. He gained his extensive experience in ERD, horizontal and multi-lateral wells, converting vertical to horizontal producers, deep gas wells of + 5,000 m, incentive and turnkey contracts during this tenure. He was part of the team to develop Essar QHSE Management System and to obtain ISO 9002 certification for operations. In between he also worked for Essar in Qatar as Senior Drilling Engineer and acting Drilling Superintendent for a turnkey contract with QGPC to drill horizontal development wells. In addition to that he was responsible to upgrade 3 deep drilling land rigs (from drilling side) to meet PDO standards where he gained extensive knowledge on equipment standards, rig safety, certification requirements and inspection and audits. As a Senior Driling Engineer for Essar he was also responsbile for preparation of all the technical bids for rigs in the Middle East where he gained extensive experience in due diligence and rig evaluation including costing and drilling economics. In 1997 he joined Cairn Energy India as Senior Drilling Engineer for their jack-up operations in the offshore Ravva field in the East Coast of India. He continued to work for Cairn for almost 6 years handling various projects in a variety of senior technical and managerial positions in India and Bangladesh. He gained extensive experience in both onshore and offshore operations (both in shallow and deep water projects) during this time. In addition, he was responsible to mobilise 4 onshore rigs and 4 offshore rigs and he involved deeply in rig inspections, due diligence and audits as part of the evaluation. In 2004, he joined Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited as Head of Well Construction handling drilling, testing and completion for all their blocks across India. He gained extensive knowledge on weathered, fractured and faulted basement reservoir during this time. In January 2006, he left HOEC to set up Ajapa. He is the Managing Director of the Company. As Ajapas first job, he did a brief consultancy work for 3 months as Drilling Manager for Oilex NL, Australia to set up their project in India. He is currently consulting as Chief Operating Officer for 4 Sterling Group of Companies with a responsibility to begin commercial production on 4 onshore blocks. Ajapa has 12 consultants working on this project. Apart from this, Kumar as Project Leader advises

and manages various Ajapa projects for other Clients. He is also a project management consultant for 3 UAE based companies, 1) British Oil and Gas Exploration Limited to procure 2 nos of 1,500 HP onshore drilling rigs and set up a drilling contractor business, 2) Geodynamics and Geosurvey Limited to set up a seismic data acquisition and processing business and 3) Texas Oil and Gas Equipment Limited to set up and develop a complete oil and gas field equipment supply business.

T. Uma Maheswar Uma has more than 22 years experience in drilling, testing and completion operations. He is a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Bombay University, India. HE joined ONGC, a state owned oil company in India in 1984 and worked for 7 years in various onshore fields as Drilling and Senior Drilling Engineer. In 1991, he joined Birla Technefactegas Limited to work as Drilling Supervisor on land rigs. In 1995, he joined Essar Oil Limited in Oman to work for PDO (Shell) as Rig Superintendent and Rig Manager on land rigs. He learned his extensive experience in running, maintaining and operating rigs including HSE management systems, inspection and audits, rig inspection and acceptance, rig evaluation, equipment standards, requirements. He also gained his extensive experience in operations in exploration, development, horizontal and multi-lateral wells during these years. In 2000, he became a Base Manager for Cairn Energy India Pty Limited and handled the entire logistics, inventory, vessels and warehouse management for their offshore operations in various shallow and deep water projects. He then decided to become an independent consultant and in 2002, joined PDO (Shell) in Oman as Drilling Supervisor and worked in various land rigs. As a Drilling Supervisor, his responsibility matrix included rig inspections, acceptance after due deligence technically and ausits. In 2004, he joined British Gas India as Night Drilling Supervisor on offshore jack-up rig for their operations in Panna/Tapti fields in Bombay Offshore. He gained extensive knowledge on drilling ERD and multi-lateral wells during this time. From 2005, he is working as independent consultant for various operators including Petronas as Drilling Supervisor. After a short period as Drilling Supervisor for Shell in Malaysia. He is currently handling 2 onshore projects in Nigeria as Drilling Superintendent to drill around 9 wells before December 2008. He also advises and manages 2 other projects for other clients in India and actively involves in the business development for Ajapa. He is part of the project for procuring 2 deep drilling rigs and setting up a drilling contractor business for British Oil and Gas Exploration Limited, UAE. Andr DiBiagio Director and Senior Consultant

Andr has 19 years drilling, completions and management experience gained internationally with several major and independents. He obtained a BSc (Hons) in Offshore Engineering at the Herriott-Watt University in Edinburgh, followed by an MSc in Petroleum Engineering at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College London. After completing his postgraduate studies, Andr worked for a few years in the North Sea service sector before joining Exxon for assignments as a senior drilling engineer in Stavanger, Houston and La Paz, Bolivia. From Exxon Andr moved to Premier Oil Plc. An initial period in London was followed by 5 years in Jakarta, Indonesia serving as Drilling Manager for Premier Oils operations there whilst also looking after the companys drilling activities in Myanmar and Assam, India. In 2004 Andr relocated to Perth and joined IPS as a Business Development Director and senior consultant. Currently Andre is in Singapore managing IPS, Singapore office and all the Far East and South East Asia clients. He continues to develop business for IPS worldwide.

Ajapa is working out a MoU with Alsun. Alsun is a professional mud engineering services company and is run by highly qualified mud engineering professionals. Ajapa and Alsun are aiming to work together in projects in India and abroad.

Apart from Ajapas own strengths of personnel data base, SIKOM adds value to source highly qualified personnel to meet all of our client needs. Kana Consultants, based in Singapore, provide specialist consultant personnel to the oil and gas exploration industry. Its core business is wellsite and operations geologists, geophysicists and petrophysicists with a particular focus on South East Asia. Its personnel comprise mature, qualified graduates, the majority resident in the region.

Ajapa is set up such a way that a 24 hrs coverage is provided to all the Clients by a team of professionals and a hi-tech network spanning from India to Australia to Middle East to ensure that our service does not get restricted by time boundaries.
