ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION:
The sun is a star and it emits its energy
(solar radiation) through electromagnetic
waves. Almost all of the energy we use on
earth comes from the sun. These 7 waves are
listed in the electromagnetic spectrum:
radio waves, microwaves, infrared waves,
visible light, ultraviolet waves, x-rays,
and gamma rays. (ordered from least
dangerous to most dangerous). The energy of
these waves increase as their wavelengths
get smaller and tighter. Since radio waves
have the longest wavelength, they can travel
the most distance unlike gamma rays. EM
radiation from sun is what provides the
energy necessary for life to exist on earth.

THE SUN:
Starting off with the structure of the sun, it is
made of multiple layers of gas. There are 6 main
parts to the structure of the sun. There is the
core which is the centre and beyond it is the
radiative and the convection zone. After that we
have the photosphere and then chromosphere. The
sun also consists of the corona which is the
outermost region of the suns atmosphere
