ANALYSIS
Task 3

1.What is the best way to measure a given set of data? Justify your answer.
- For me, the mean is the most common way to determine central tendency because it
averages all of provides the best method to measure any specific set of data. the
numbers in the data collection. It is the most popular measure since it can be used to
analyze data from various distributions and is unaffected by really large numbers.

2.Is Arithmetic mean a proper measure of central tendency? Justify your answer.
-Due to the fact that the computation takes into account all values, It is the most
widely used central tendency measure. When there are no extreme high and low
values, or called outliners, the arithmetic mean is the best indicator of central tendency.
Outliners can use the median and mode. Its second advantage is that It can be used
with other analysis types, including standard deviation, variance, and standard error of
mean.
3.What are you going to do if a data could not be interpreted using measures of central
tendency?
- If measurements of central tendency could not be used to evaluate the data, then
measures of dispersion may be used.
4.What is the reason why using range as a measure of variability is not stable to use?
Give an example and justify.
- Since the range does not account for every score in the distribution, it frequently fails
to accurately describe the variability for the entire distribution, which is why using range
as a measure of variability is unstable. The range is viewed as a fundamental and
unreliable measure of variability as a result of this. Because of this, the range is viewed
as a sloppy and incorrect indication of variability.
5.Do you think standard deviation is the most reliable measure of dispersion?
- I think standard deviation is considered as one of the most reliable measure dispersion
due to the fact that it is a measure of average deviations from average.
6.Is it possible that the value for range, standard deviation and variance is negative?
Justify your answer.
- No, because the square root of a positive number or zero can never be negative, The
standard deviation cannot be negative because variance is always zero or a positive
number.
APPLICATION
Achievement Test (DAT)

Answer the following:

a. Which scores frequently appears?
-The score that appears frequently is 22.

b. What score appears to be the median? How many students fall below that
score?
-22is the score that came out to be the median. Six students got the score "22"

c. Which scores frequently appears?

-The score that appears often is 22.

d. Find the mean, median and mode.

Mean
14+15+15+15+16+16+16+17+17+18+18+1
8+18+20+20+20+21+22+22+22+22+22+22
+23+23+23+24+25+25+28+32+32+33+35+ 35+36+38+38+39+43 =958
958÷40=32.95 Therefore the mean is 32.95
Median
14,15,15,15,16,16,16,17,17,18,18,18,18,20,
20,20,21,22,22,22,22,22,22,23,23,23,24,25, 25,28,32,32,33,35,35,36,38,38,39,43
22,22 are in the middle 22+22=44 and 44÷2=22
Mode
The mode is 22
e. Describe the data in terms of the mean, median and mode.
-In terms of mean I find it by adding numbers in the data and then dividing by the
number of values in the set. In median, is the middle value when a data set is
ordered from least to greatest while the mode is the number that occurs most often
in the data set.
