Narrative Report

I am Christian D. Lapira, a student in Hotel and Restaurant Technology or HRT 203.

Last August 11, we are accompanied by Ms. Madel Perez to one of the hotels in Subic Bay,

the Sun Plaza Hotel. After the hotel visit, we instantly started our on-the-job training as part

of the school's curriculum.

On-the-job training is part of college curriculum that aims to train and orient the

students about the work and their future career. It is a type of skill development where a

worker learns how to do the work through hands-on experience. On the Job Training is one

method by which students are expected with different work situation designed to give

students an opportunity to experience and chance to apply the knowledge that they have

learned from the school.

On the very first day of our on-the-job training, the head or deputy of the hotel gave

us a short-lived tour of every place that we would be seeing every day, including the

employees, admins, and bosses was also introduced. We are tasked to do the on-the-job

training from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

On the second day, we are tasked with cleaning the beds, the comfort room, and the

verandas, as well as dusting, sweeping, and mopping the floors. They also showed us on how

to properly place toiletries and towels. We undertake daily routine work, and at 1:00 p.m., we

do "public," in which we clean all of the hotel's public spaces.

During my momentary on-the-job training at the Sun Plaza Hotel, I found numerous

types of people with whom I became friends; they assisted me and even guided me in

everything I have to do. Even though I have a lot of thoughts and knowledge about what I'm

supposed to do during the OJT, I am grateful as they continue to be there to teach me how to

mend the bed linen and other things that I am unconfident about.

Good conduct, Hospitality, Confidence, and Conscientious are some of the values that

I consider taking and implementing myself during on-the-job training, where I should

properly adapt those words of praise onto myself in all aspects and times throughout the day

to be able to provide the best attitude which I have while working on my future career.

After almost a month of on-the-job training, we are now simply coping all the

necessary things to do inside the hotel such as cleaning, attending to some guests, and

meeting their demands. Assisting the guest and making sure that they had a comfortable room

to sleep in, a fresh towel to use, and a nice atmosphere in which they can unwind, relax and

have a better experience while staying inside the hotel premises.
