REINFORCEMENT AND ENRICHMENT

TASK 5

The dialogue shows a social interaction between the


two siblings namely: Rufa and his Kuya Clark. Rufa
expresses her sadness and experience by sharing it to
his Kuya Clark. She talks about the poor mark she got
on her essay despite on the hardwork she put on writing
it. His Kuya Clark comforted her by telling that she
did her best because of her effort she put in it and
also motivated her to do better in her next essay. In
addition, he also offered Rufa that he would check on
her essay before submitting it. Rufa was so happy
knowing that her Kuya would help her in improving her
essay. She thanked her Kuya with a smile and gave him a
hug. ”That’s great” and “You are really the best!”
These statements showed the expression of how happy
Rufa was. By saying “Thank You” regulates or controls
the flow of their conversation. “ Well, what’s
important is that you did your best. I’m sure you can
do better on your next essay.” This statement of Kuya
Clark to Rufa manifests motivation. “Oh, is it that
obvious? I got a poor mark for my essay despite the
hard work I put into it.” In this statement of Rufa it
shows the emotion of Rufa on how sad she was while
talking to her Kuya Clark because of the poor mark she
got from her essay. Their conversation includes the
four functions of communication which is the control or
regulation by saying thank you, motivation which the
way of making Rufa happy, it also includes emotional
expression in a way that Rufa expressed her sadness to
his Kuya Clark about getting a poor mark and her
happiness when her Kuya Clark offered to help by
checking her next essay. Overall, there was a social
interaction between the two siblings Rufa and her Kuya
Clark.
