money back? Surf the internet and try to find out the cancellation policy of five or more
travel agencies and compare each of them. Report your findings in class. (20)

- There are times we planned for a trip and already have booked everything. In
some cases, the whole trip is canceled for various reasons and with that, we are
eager to know if we will get our money back. In general, each travel agency has
its own cancellation policy that can answer the question “will I get my money
back?”. If the trip is canceled by the agency itself, some may be offering options
to give a full refund, reschedule the travel date, or may not give a refund because
of the policy of the travel agencies (refer to the details below) or depending on
the situation that happens which can be environmental issues, etc. While other
travel agency doesn’t provide a refund if the booking is already placed since the
payment is somehow a reservation fee already reserved for you, however, some
policies offer a refund with certain rules like cancellation should be 30 days prior
to the reserved date to get a full refund, 30-14 days prior will have to forfeit 25%
of the cost of the trip, and etc. Other agencies also charge a cancellation once
you cancel your trip that’s been booked and prepared. Some policies will forfeit
the refund because of the customer’s recklessness in being delayed or for any
unacceptable reason. Therefore, it is crucial to know the cancellation policies of
each travel agency before booking or planning a trip to them.

1. TRIPinas Travel and Tours

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation of the tour by the client (you)

● For a day tour: You can get a full refund** of your payment or option to
reschedule (subject to slots availability) as long as we receive your written
(email) advisory at least 7 days* or more before the tour date
● For a multi-day tour (a tour that last more than 24 hours): You can get a full
refund** of your payment or option to reschedule (subject to slots availability) as
long as we receive your written (email) advisory at least 30 days* or more before
the tour date
● applies regardless of when you inquired, booked and paid the tour, hence it also
applies for last minute booking.
Cancellation of the tour by Tripinas Travel and Tour Ventures (TRIPinas itself)

● If Tripinas Travel and Tour Ventures has to cancel the tour for any reason
(including bad weather) we give a full refund** of your payment or option to
reschedule your tour (subject to slots availability) as long as the cancellation
happened before the day of the tour.
● If the tour has already started and Tripinas Travel and Tour Ventures is forced to
cancel, abort or cut short the tour, no refund and no option to reschedule will be
given.
● A refund will be processed within a maximum of 15 banking days through cash
deposit or online fund transfer if you have an account in one of the major banks
in the Philippines (like BDO, Metrobank, BPI, Chinabank, PNB, Security bank,..)
If you have paid online through PayPal, refund will be processed via PayPal but
take note that the PayPal service charge (around 5% of your payment) won't be
refunded. If you don't have an account in one of the major banks in the
Philippines or you can't accept PayPal payment, the refund will be collected by
you in cash and Philippine pesos at our office.

No-show policy

● Failure to show up on time on the tour date means forfeiture of any and all funds
paid for the travel. The remaining balance of the no-show participant(s)of your
group will still be collected from your group.

2. Scorpio Travel and Tours

CANCELLATION OF BOOKING

● Cancellation of booking, refunds and rebooking will not be accepted once the
booking is finalized. No refund will be given to any non-utilized part of the travel
arrangements. Scorpio Travel & Tours offers refunds commensurate with the
policies of suppliers engaged for personal travel, including tours, air and cruises.
Scorpio Travel & Tours is not liable for any airline cancellation, reschedule, or
delay for any reason. If you purchased your airline ticket with us, we will try to
assist in making new arrangements providing you have not yet checked in with
your airline for your first flight segment. Please be aware airline fees often apply
for modifications to air schedules not related to airline imposed flight
cancellations, reschedules or delays. These fees will be payable to the airline
directly at time of request. If you miss your departure flight or connection, it is
your responsibility to work with the airline on which you are ticketed to reach your
destination.

Booking Cancellations Made by You

● You or any member of your party may cancel all or part of your Travel at any
time, provided that the cancellation is made in writing to us by the person who
made the original booking. You will receive a refund of the amount paid
(excluding any amendment charge) less the cancellation fees specified below:

General Cancellation Policy

● All cancellation requests must be sent to will@onelife-adventures.com in writing,


all circumstances will be individually reviewed and some exceptions may be
made. In general Cancellations made;
30 days prior to the trip or course commencement
● You will receive a full refund

30 - 14 days prior to the trip or course commencement


● You will forfeit 25% of the cost of your course or trip

14 day or less prior to the trip or course


● You will forfeit 100% of the cost of your course or trip

Cancellations due to environmental conditions & weather

● We cannot control environmental or weather conditions, stated trip or course


objectives may be affected by such conditions. Course and trip objectives may
need to be altered or revised. Our overarching decision factor is the safety of
you, our guests and our guides. OneLife Adventure and their guides have the
right to cancel a trip or course due to any conditions that they think may affect the
safety of our guests and guides.
● In the case of cancellations due to environmental conditions & weather, Onelife
Adventures will work with the parties affected to find an alternate date. In the
case that a guest cannot find an alternative date a full refund will be submitted. If
guests have concerns about environmental or weather conditions, they are
encouraged to bring up their concerns, prior to or during a trip or course.

Canceling Due to Insufficient participant Number

● Many courses and trips require a minimum number of participants to run, if these
minimum numbers are not reached, Onelife Adventures has the right to cancel
the offering. If Onelife Adventures cancels because of a lack of insufficient
numbers we will work with the affected party to provide a date that works. In the
case that no date will work for both parties a full refund will be submitted.

5. WanderTravels

If you need to cancel your booking with Wanderlands Travel you will need to notify us in
writing (by mail or e-mail).
If you cancel your booking, the following charges will apply:
● Cancelation fee $200 (AUD) per booking/destination.
● For cancellations received less than 60 days prior to departure full payment will
be lost.

No cancellation fees will be waived as a result of the following:


● Injury or sickness.
● Delayed, rescheduled or missed flights.
● Climatic, social or political problems.

- If the customer finds any aspect of the tour unsatisfactory and requests any form
of a refund, the customer must contact Wanderlands via email at
office@wanderlands.travel while during the duration of the tour. If the complaint
is lodged after the tour has concluded, no refund will be given.
- Any part of the tour that the customer finds unsatisfactory is not subject to refund.
- You may be able to have any cancellation fees refunded by your Travel
Insurance – subject to their terms.

Cancellations by Wanderlands Travel

● We may cancel a trip at any time prior to departure if, due to terrorism, natural
disasters, political instability, other external events, or any other purpose it is not
viable for us to operate the planned itinerary. If we cancel your trip, you can
transfer amounts paid to an alternative start date. Under no circumstances when
a cancellation occurs will a refund be given, regardless of the cause. We are not
responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of
your booking including, but not limited to, visas, vaccinations, travel insurance
excess or non-refundable flights.
● In the very rare event that we do not receive the minimum number of bookings to
provide the Tour, we, at our discretion, shall be entitled to cancel or curtail the
tour at any time up to 7 days prior to the start date. We will always move you to
the nearest group so as not to disrupt your plans too much. This is also to ensure
that there are enough people in the group to make it the most possible fun for
you! If this occurs and it is not possible for you to participate in a Tour with a
different start date we will give a full refund, however you shall not be entitled to
make any claim for loss arising as a consequence of cancellation or curtailment
in these circumstances.
