A LV Power Cable& Wire Continuity and Insulation Resistance Test

Testing is to be carried out ONLY on de-energized cables. Cables NFPA 70, NEC
A1 shall be tested for their de-energized state before starting test on 110.3 & NETA
them ATS 2009, 5.1

Inspect cable wires for crimping and proper connection in NETA ATS 2009,
A2
accordance with schematic diagram. 7.3.2.1.4

Perform continuity test of each core of cable drum to ensure no NETA ATS -
A3
conductor is broken with certified and calibrated Ohm-meter. 2009, 7.3.2.3.2.3

NFPA 70, NEC

All wires should be left grounded when not on test, during the
A4 110.3 & NETA
testing of other wire, until completely discharged.
ATS 2009, 5.1
NFPA 70, NEC
If cable ends are exposed for testing, they shall be re-sealed (water 110.3,
A5
and dust-proof seals) and firmly secured when not terminated. manufacturer's
instructions

Low voltage (600, 450/750, or 600/1000 V rated) wires, including

A6 splices to existing wires, shall be 1000 V DC megger tested after NETA
installation and prior to placing in service (during commissioning).
