Hyper Grace
Hyper Grace
The concept of grace is one of the most beautiful things about God’s personality and his relationship
with humanity. Yet when misconstrued, it becomes an object of ridicule, scorn and mischief.
The grace of God is his show of unmerited love, mercy and favour, which is most evidenced and
illustrated in Christ’s work of salvation and redemption of man. (Romans 5v8)
Slide 2
This is a deceptive teaching that ridicules the grace of God by portraying it as freedom and liberty to live
as we want.
The grace of God as precious as it is, is dragged in the mud by teachers of this doctrine who abusively
present it as a permission from God to practice sin.
Concerning whom Jude 1:4 says “…Ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and
denying the only Lord God…”
Slide 3
Adherents to this doctrine teach that Jesus has paid the debt of past present and future sins therefore it
doesn’t matter if we continue living in sin. They Support this with the scripture Ephesians 2v8-9.
But the bible also says “For there is no longer any sacrifice that will take away sins if we purposely go on
sinning after the truth has been made known to us.” (Hebrews 10:26 ).
Slide 4
This doctrine also teaches that Christians have no need repenting when they sin because Christ’s
finished work on the cross has paid for It all.
This cannot be further away from the truth as Jesus himself warned the seven churches in the book of
revelation who were falling away from the faith and even sternly said “Repent and do the things you did
at first” (Rev. 2:5)
Slide 5
“Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:18)
Teaching that God’s grace is permission and freedom to sin is making it counterproductive, in that it now
achieves the opposite of its purpose. Read also Romans 6v14.
Slide 6
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son
of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)
The gracious work of Jesus was meant to destroy the works of the devil which is sin and not to give us
license to freely indulge in it.

Summary
The grace of God is amazing when understood, because our entire faith and hope is hinged on God’s
grace, we do not merit it.
However a lot of pervasive teachings has distorted the essence and meaning of grace. Which is why we
must earnestly contend for the faith which was handed over to us. (Jude 1v3)
