BEST WAY TO PRACTICE BAYANIHAN IN TIMES OF
PANDEMIC Bayanihan is a Filipino term that refers to the spirit of community and cooperation. It is derived from the word Bayanihan, which means "community nation." It became a well-known Filipino trait and is still practiced by Filipinos today. As a result of the pandemic, people's lives have been upended and they have been forced to stay at home. Many people have joined forces and turned to social media to find ways to help and mobilize online communities to take action. Others have asked for protection and guidance, as well as assistance in the form of food packs and other necessities for everyone's survival. Filipinos do not abandon everyone; instead, they pool their resources, energy, and power to spread love, hope, and inspiration. That enraged everyone; it was merely a demonstration that Bayanihan is still alive and well in the hearts of rich and poor Filipinos alike in this time of pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic is causing problems and making the country's poor more vulnerable. Despite these challenges, one thing is certain: the "Bayanihan spirit" is alive and well in Filipinos. The emergence of volunteer-driven relief efforts in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrates that the Filipino Bayanihan thrives in times of crisis.
