Goals for the Rest of the Week, the Correct Stance, Start, and use Outside and Inside

Releases based
on the Play Remember your Coaching Points.

Wide Receiver Fundamentals

Stance----2 Point Stance

Outside Foot Back (Inside Footback when going in Motion)

Chest over the Toes/Outside Toe in the Ground with a Bent Toe
Bend a Little at the Waist/Chin over Front Knee
Hands can be relaxed by your side vs. Loose Covg.
Hand must be up higher than the DB’s versus Man Coverage
Weight Distribution should be 80/20 Front to Back Feet.
(Eliminates the False Step or Rocking Back)
Front Foot can be turned in A little Inward for a better roll
Weight 80% Off of the Ball of the Front Foot and not on the Toe of the Front Foot.
--This will keep you from lifting up the Front Foot during your start.

Procedure to get into a stance If you are having trouble:

A) Lean Forward and use your front foot to stop you from leaning
B) That should give you chest over toes
C) Pick your Back foot up and put it into the Ground with a Bent Toe
D) Chin Over Front Knee

Starts---depends on the type of Coverages

A) Loose Coverage---Outside Release/Inside Release/ or BPR Best Possible Release

Come Off low, Extend Fully to gain yardage on the First Step, Head Down, Eyes
up,
Push the DB with your eyes, accelerate with the Arms.
(Move the DB with your eyes).

Releases---Vs Loose Coverages

1) Outside Release---Attack the Edge or Half of the DB, Come off the L.O.S. to the Outside at An
Angle and then Stem up by Going Vertical at the DB’s Outside
2) Inside Release---Attack the Inside Edge of Half of the DB, Come off the L.O.S. to the Inside at
an Angle and then Stem up by going vertical at the DB’s Inside.
3) Best Possible Release—Use either an Outside or Inside Release whichever Release will give
you the best Release to attack the DB’s Technique (Good Vs a DB who is Playing Loose
Coverage Head up on You)
