INTRODUCTION
“Did you ever mismatch your socks?” If you do not know the meaning of the word mismatch,
you can figure it out. First, you look for the root word on which it is built from. The root word is match.
The letter or syllable added to the beginning of the root word match is called a prefix. It changes the
meaning of the word. The prefix mis- means “wrong or wrongly”. Therefore, mismatch means wrong
match or wrongly matched.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this activity, you will be able to:
1. To read word with affixes
2. To add appropriate prefixes or suffixes to a word to form a new word
