Activity 1

Directions: Choose an object that you have difficulty in using. Make a plan to change the

form of this object to make it more functional.

Presentation of the plan:

-Find some bottles that are rarely or never used.

-The next step is to make it useful by painting it or adding lights and artificial flowers inside to add
additional creativity or to pique your curiosity.

-Once it's finished, you can use it as a lamp or a decoration for your room. That's another way you can
save money.

-Something you could eventually expand into a small business.

-You are not only saving money by selling the hand-painted bottles, but you are also preserving the
environment.

Activity 4
Directions: Look intently and examine with appreciation and curiosity the artwork of
Ang Kiukok’s Pieta. Answer sensibly the questions below.

1.What do you think is the meaning behind the art piece Pieta by Ang Kiukok?

-The dead corpse of Jesus is depicted in this work by Ang Kiukok, The Pietà, which uses a strong
figurative manner to convey the theme in Christian art. Christ's head is consumed by the crown of
thorns, and his body is in a prostrate position.

2. Why do you think the artist made such art work?

-He may be attempting to get us to open our eyes and look about so that we can witness the
rage, grief, ugly nature of the world, and the lunacy that permeates all of us that Christ died in vain.

3. Were you affected by this artwork? In what ways?

-It got me to thinking about how busy we all are trying to make ends meet, regardless of the
cost, and how it causes us to overlook the sacrifices that Jesus made for us to throw away.

4. Do you think that the artist was successful in conveying the message to his viewers? Why?

-Yes, because the artist incorporates these religious themes into the picture to show his
unwavering faith and confidence in God. It may also be a nod to the artist's own spiritual enlightenment.

5. Will you take a second look at this painting should you be given the chance to visit an art gallery
where it shall be featured and displayed? Why?

-Yes, because it got me to thinking about life and why we continue to do sins while knowing the
consequences and why God continues to pardon us despite the harm we cause him.
