Position: Director (Programmes)


Location: Delhi

Reporting: Executive Director

Educational Background

Essential Qualifications:

Postgraduate with a degree in Engineering/Economics/Management/Finance or a relevant field from


a recognized University with in-depth knowledge of energy sector specific policies & practices

Desirable Qualifications:

Preferably PhD. and publication record in the energy related areas

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in energy & allied sectors


• Experience in handling research projects, analysis and policy formulation in energy & allied
domains

Requirements

• Deep understanding of the energy & allied sectors


• Experience in dealing with Indian and international organisations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, project and organizational management skills
• National and international recognitions in the field- Peer reviewed publications, speaker in
national/international conferences.
• Theoretical/conceptual and practical knowledge of issues related to power, Renewable
Energy, climate change, energy efficiency and their associated sectors
• Sound knowledge of market finance and investment in power & allied sectors.
• Understanding of green / climate finance is desirable

Job Responsibilities

• The candidate will head a team of senior consultants/consultants who will carry out both
primary and secondary research. Director shall be responsible for research output i.e.
research reports, policy briefs and articles and showcase organization’s policy advocacy
efforts in social, print media and other channels
• He/she will be responsible for the development, implementation of energy/power projects &
use appropriate project management tools to track implementation progress, as well as
identify and mitigate various implementation risks.
• Prepare relevant documentation, reports and maintain the required databases during
implementation of projects.
• He/ she will be responsible for dissemination of the research through active engagement with
policy makers, think tanks and civil society & other stakeholders
• The candidate will represent Power Foundation at related meetings/ conferences and
communicate with media if required.
• He/ she will need to follow regulatory and technical developments in India as well as in other
countries, critique policy changes for internal discussions and give feedback to relevant
stakeholders including the Govt.
• The candidate will assist Foundation’s efforts in promoting various programs globally.
• Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time.
