Diagnostic Exercise:
 As a class, brainstorm about ways in which the Church in the
Philippines is really Filipino. What customs, practices and so on
are typically Filipino? Then try to outline how these practices got
started and of what value they are.

Scenario Analysis:
 What contributions has the Church made to the development of
the Philippines as a nation? Try to come up with a presentation
about the contributions.

Tableau Presentation: Think of an event in history or a part of


literature that depicts the Church in the Philippines. In a groups,
decide on a way with which to present it in the form of a tableau
or a still enactment of the scene.
Lecturette: the history of the Church in the Philippines.
The Church in the Philippines is uniquely
Filipino. Many of the fiestas continue a
tradition of devotion to patron saints. The
Pasyonis reenacted during Holy Week. Indeed,
these religious celebrations create a sense of
community that is also important today. All in
all, the Church is alive in the Philippines
trying to become more and more the Body of
Christ.
