is a book author who wrote
this book of the Outsiders
in 1967. She has won many
awards such as: Anne V.
Zarrow Awards for Young
Readers’ literature and
Margaret Edwards prize.

based on 2 gang fights from
her highschool, Will Rogers
High School.
Book Synopsis
This book is about a gang from
Oklahoma named greasers and how
their members Ponyboy, Johnny, Dallas,
Darry, Sodapop, Two-bit etc interact and
face the rival gang the Socials (S.O.C.S).
Then we get to see how Ponyboy and
Johnny dated 2 Socs girls and members
from the socials tried to beat them up
but Johnny got his pocket blade and
killed one of them named Bob. That
made them escape from town and went
to an abandoned church in Windrixville.
When they started to adapt a fire took
place and Johnny because of saving kids
got his back broken and Dallas a lot of
burns, unfortunately Johnny died in the
hospital after Ponyboy went to tell him
that they won a rumble against the socs.

Reviews:
The Outsiders is a beautiful coming of age story
that I would recommend for everyone in middle
school and high school.

The Outsiders are gritty, honest and authentic,

and a novel that I feel every teenager needs to
