1. Why are special events created?  

- There are several types of events, and each of that have its own reasons and its
own subject. First is the corporate event Based on the relationship between
employees, customers, partners in an organization or between many firms. For
example, is Meeting, Costumer conference, Press conference, Grand opening, … This
event improves the connection between individuals’ relationship, strengthen the
image of the company, … Second is the Consumer event. This is one type of
marketing when it supports to promote the products, boost sales, and interact with
the customers like Product launch, entertainment, music show, festival event, …
Next is the Government event with Political purpose with Convention, Election
ceremony, … Community, No-profit event is popular because of Community’s
purpose such as raising the awareness of residences like Fundraising, Environmental
day, Walking day, … Finally, is Personal, Private event: Funeral, Ceremony,
Anniversary.  
 
1. What purpose do they serve in society?  
- I believe the main purpose of special event is entertainment although it has many
types, and each has its own reason. However, event still determine the center of
gravity that is customers and the experience of them. That why event support to
entertain human’s life and become an important part of social mental aspect.  
 
1. Research five events in Vietnam over the last three-years, list and
discuss what are they about.  
 
- HAY fest is the first glamming festival in Vietnam. Customers not only enjoy the
diversity music by singers from many nationals, but they also could set up a camp
and try several dishes and foods in 12 hours; this event included 21 singers and
bands, attracted more than 10.000 audiences
- NTPMM is the music show for singers and audience who love Indie music; took place
in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, all the volunteers are youths and attracted more than
5.000 youngsters.
- Hanoi Pride is the festival for LGBT+ and held from 19/9 to 25/9/2022 with many
booths for trans, gays, …; workshop with embassy from supporting LGBT country;
fundraising walking and cycling day, music show with singers who protect and
advocate LGBT+.
- SEA Games 31 is the biennial regional multi-sport event which held in Hanoi and its
surrounding cities from 12 to 23 May 2022; featuring 526 events in 40 different
sports.
- Alice in Wonderland Musical is the musical show will take place in the Opera House in
3,4/10/2022, including the professional and non-professional actors from Vietnam
and Australia.
 
4. Have you attended an event if yes, what is your takeaway . 
- I have already participate in many special events (also an audience and an organizer)
and I believe that all the process and factors are significant to a successful event.  
- I usually joins in a musical show. Sometimes it seems like some departments are
separated because they do not work with each other. However, the director í so
important to direct and connect all the employees with a small walkie-talkie. And if
any department has problem such as light or sound, all the show will fail.
