IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!!!

Good Night guys I hope you had a wonderful day. So my team and I decided to prepare some
tips for tomorrow that will surely help you all.

 Exemptions

By now you should be aware of what an exemption is and the modules that you may be
exempted from.
Students who do not have a grade 1 or 2 in CSEC English or 1, 2, or 3 in CAPE Communication
Studies; are required to do Developmental English, as it is a prerequisite to do Academic
Literacy.
For Fundamentals of Accounting if you have a 1 in CSEC POA. DO NOT SELECT THE
MODULES THAT YOU CAN BE EXEMPTED FROM

 System Failure

UTECH systems have the tendency to crash when there is a large volume of persons trying to
access it or are on it at the same time. This may occur during module selection and exam times.

 Credits Per Semester

For each semester you are allowed to do a minimum of 9 credits per semester if you are a part-
time student HOWEVER, for full-time students, it's a minimum of 12 credits per semester. The
maximum amount of credits that may be done within any semester is 21. "My advice is to select
6 modules the most per semester" but do what works best for you.
NB://On your diet sheet beside each module, you will see how much credit a specific module is
worth.
 Selecting your modules

You should have all looked on your diet sheet and have a feel of which modules you would like
to do and the amount. So the first step is to go to the UTECH portal select the
student option, then the option to select your modules, you will see four (4) boxes on the left side
of the screen going down namely:  Morning session, afternoon session, evening session and
elective. For now, I would not advise anyone to do any elective unless everything else is fulled
up.
You will be able to select the module that you want in any specific session as long as the module
is available. Classes start as early as 8 am and end as late as 9 pm.
When selecting your modules, select one, then view your timetable. Repeat this process
until you have finished selecting all of your modules. The reason for doing this is, in the event
that there is a clash in class times you will know which module is causing the clash. The system
will indicate that there was a clash in your selection and it will show up in red.
WHEN YOU ARE THROUGH SELECTING PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU
SCREENSHOT YOUR TIMETABLE OR WRITE IT DOWN AS YOU WILL NO
LONGER BE ABLE TO VIEW IT AGAIN UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN FINANCIALLY
CLEARED Also, TIMETABLES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AFTER YOU HAVE
BEEN FINANCIALLY CLEARED so when you are financially cleared, please view your
timetable to see if anyone changes were made.
