vision of what Switch is all
about. There’s nothing wrong
with being normal, unless
you’re called to be different,
and we believe all our
students are called to be
different. But, we won’t be
different alone. For this first
night of Switch, be sure to
welcome your new students
and show them what Switch
groups are all about.

 How was your summer?
 What did you think about the message?
 What are some things that are normal about you?
 What are a few things you’d say are normal for people your age?
 What’s one thing that’s different about you?
GET TALKING: DISCUSSION/CONVERSATION
 On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being extremely easy and 10 being impossible), how hard is it to be different
for God in your school? Why?
 Would you say there are popular kids in your school who live for Christ? Why or why not?
 The focus of this message is “Don’t be different alone.” What does that mean to you? Why should
we be different, and who can help you be different?
 Here at Life.Church, our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. What
do you think it means to be a fully devoted follower of Christ? What do they do differently from
everyone else?
GET SPIRITUAL: BIBLE VERSES/SPIRITUAL APPLICATONS
 Look up and read Romans 12:2 together.
o What does it mean or look like to let God change the way you think? How can you make that
happen?
 Talk about the Bible story about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. (Look it up from your
YouVersion Bible App if you or your students need a refresher.)
o What is one part about the Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego story that stood out to you? Why
did you pick that part?
o Why do you think Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were able to be different?
GET PRACTICAL: ACTION STEPS
(Leaders: Get your students’ contact info so that you can follow up with them this week.)
 What is something different you’re trying to do alone? How can this group help you do it?
 Tell us one area you’ll choose to be different in a godly way this week. How can we help you do
that?
 What is one area we all want to grow in as a group this year? What is a good group goal for us this
year? How do we make that happen?
 Who is someone you know who could benefit from being in this group? How can you invite them to
join you?
GET PRAYING
 Pray specifically for students to be different and for the right friends to help them not be different
alone.
 Pray for students to change their words, actions, thoughts, etc. through a filter of: will this make me
more like Christ.
 Pray for anything else students might need prayer for.
 Either have a leader pray, a student pray, or students pray for each other.
