• The given line graphs illustrates how the figure of books read by male and female sts in Starmouth school’s library changed
between 2006 and 2012.
• Overall, it is clear that there was a strong upward trend in the number of books read by girls. It is also noticeable that while male
readers are higher female in the beginning year, it fell to below the level of girls in the end of the period.
• As can be seen from graph, there were 50 and 30 books that boys and girls flipped through in 2009. These figures, then increased
steadily to 40 and 80 respectively one year later before reaching an equal level at 100 by 2011
• By contrast, there was an opposite trend in the number of books between girls and boys. While the figure for female sts increased
sharply and reached its highest point of 140 in 2012, the latter figure/the counterpart experienced a slight fall by 20 in the end of
the period.
