2. “Every teacher is a reading teacher.” Agree or Disagree? Explain your answer.

,
Yes, I agree that every teacher is a reading teacher since reading is an indispensable tool
in learning, how much more to a teacher who is the vessel of learning. Reading is
undeniably a part of teacher’s life. Through reading, teachers will be equipped with the
necessary skills and knowledge in order for the learning to occur on the part of the
students. Thus, it is impossible for a teacher to teach without engaging herself/himself in
reading.

3. Describe one specific way English and Science/Math teachers can collaborate to help all
students learn and be engaged with text:

One of the specific ways to collaborate with Science/Math teachers is through LAC
session. This will enable us to identify the different needs of our students when it comes
to text engagement and at the same time we can brainstorm some means to address
their needs.

4. In terms of your role as English/Math/Science teacher, what concern or problem do you

have or foresee in developing disciplinary literacy among your students? Why is it a
problem? Suggest one possible solution.

As an English teacher, the common problem is the reading comprehension of the

students which is declining. It is a very big problem because the learning of the students
will be affected or no learning will take place at all, not only in English subject t across
the curriculum. This could be addressed through constant remedial instructions.
