TITLE – WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF …?

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Read carefully and highlight unfamiliar terms and concepts. Make sure you know what
everything means and make sure you are clear about what your group task is asking of
you.
2. Analyze and brainstorm the case, what are the problems and issues that need exploring
and think about solutions you can come up with.
3. Formulate group learning objectives for further research. Learning objectives are a list of
things that your group needs to find out and research to be able to complete the task. You
may want to split your research so each team member takes responsibility for one part of
the research.
4. Socialize your findings with your team and come to a consensus about the deliverables.
Discuss with the facilitator if necessary.
5. Use all the information your team has found to complete the group assessment and
deliverables.

DELIVERABLES

Your task as a team is to create a virtual book using titled “The life of (product assigned)”. The
book must contain a story about the life cycle of the products assigned as well as the following
information:

1. The goal of the study and the functional unit selected


2. The data researched and eco-indicator selected
3. Which product has the higher environmental impact? Show your quantitative and
qualitative analysis.
4. What are the main impacts on the environment?
5. What phase of the product life cycle is the most impacting?
6. What did you and your team learned in this activity?

ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION

Group.

Criteria: quality of research and data, clarity of the LCA methodology, quality of the analysis and
interpretation in any software or tool, clarity and creativity of the book.
