• Clear 7-count plastic canvas
• 4-inch (10.2cm) plastic canvas circle
• Uniek Needloft plastic canvas yarn
as listed in color key
• 2 bee buttons from Blumenthal
Lansing Co.
• 1/2 yard 1/2-inch-wide (1.3cm)
yellow lace trim
• 1/4 yard 2 1/2-inch-wide (6.4cm)
sheer gold wire-edge ribbon
• #16 tapestry needle
• Hand-sewing needle
• Yellow sewing thread

Stitching Step by Step

1. Cut bee basket and basket handle
from plastic canvas according to
graphs. The 4-inch plastic canvas
circle will be used for bottom of
basket; it will remain unstitched.
2. Stitch handle according to graph;
Overcast edges with black.
3. Stitch basket according to graph,
filling in uncoded areas with lilac
Continental Stitches. Whipstitch
ends together using adjacent colors
as shown.
4. Using lilac yarn throughout,
Whipstitch unstitched 4-inch plastic
canvas circle to bottom of basket;
Overcast top edge.
5. Using sewing needle and yellow
thread throughout, stitch ends of
handle inside basket. 7. Stitch bee buttons to upper edge piece in half; gather folded edges
6. Stitch straight edge of 1/2-inch-wide and handle of basket. and stitch to center stitched bee on
lace inside upper edge of basket, 8. Bee wings: Cut two 4-inch pieces of basket.
