“Don’t Hesitate” points out that joy is an emotion that needs to be felt.

Emotions happen

sometimes when you least expect it, and holding on to happiness makes those moments matter.

Joy is easily pushed to the back of one's head and often people are scared to feel it in the fear of

being hurt or getting their heart broken. The line “still, life has some possibility left” sticks out. It

conveys the message of perseverance and reminds me that though sometimes life can bring you

down, there is always somewhere to find joy or some way to stay positive. Another line that has

a strong message is “whatever it is, don’t be afraid of its plenty.” This is an important line

because oftentimes, the feeling of happiness is taken over by the stresses of everyday life or the

fear of feeling content. I think it is vital to remember that everyone should hold on to the joy they

have.

Love brings joy, and this poem reminds readers to be open to feel those emotions.

Qualities such as loyalty, kindness, and selflessness stem from loving others, which are equally

meaningful as loving yourself. When the writer demonstrates to readers that towns are being

destroyed, it makes me feel lucky for what I have and for my circumstances. Many people have

much more severe issues than we do, and it reminds me to be happy and grateful for what I have.

Overall, the poem “Don’t Hesitate” conveyed a message that is extremely significant to me,

reminding all readers that it is okay to be happy.
