This documentary shows the life and rate of child malnutrition in the Philippines.
It shows the different problem that cause poverty. The first part of video shows how
hard their life is, Mary Rose go to school even she don’t have enough money to buy
foods. Her academic performance affects because of their problems at home. They
have no enough money to buy foods even the soap for their everyday needs and
because of these it affects their health. Also in the middle part while Mary Rose is
talking, she said that she want to go to their province in Cavite because she know that
they are safe and secure their. Their house and surroundings are not safe even the
people around them. Also she stated that there are no learning if she stay in that house
that’s why she want to go to school everyday. They skip meals by watching movies and
sleeping, they will eat if their mother have money. The Malnutrition at Tondo, Manila is
the main focus of this documentary, the families would go to the health center for check
up and feeding program.
For me, no job and lack of education are one of the main reason of poverty and
malnutrition. It is for the parents, they need to have family planning before they start
family. They need stable job for them to have money to buy food and pays electric bills.
The children suffer, they have no clean, safe home and surroundings, they have no food
and money when they go to school, they have a different infections because of no
hygiene and much more the future of children has also affect. This documentary inspire
me because just like mary rose, her simple dream to eat chicken shows how bless I am,
I can eat what I want and I have what I need. It inspire me because despite of the
problems, Mary has never stop pursuing her dream to finish study and became a
Doctor. Also this documentary help me to realize how grateful and bless I am to have a
good life.
