2022 GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY

TO : All Teaching, Teaching-Related and Non-Teaching Personnel

All Concerned
1. In consonance with Memorandum No. 2022-03-0091 of the OUGFO, this
office announces the celebration of the 2022 Global Handwashing Day, with
the theme “Unite for Universal Hand Hygiene” on October 15, 2022. In line
with this the following activities related to the celebration will be conducted on
the following dates:
a. October 14, 2022- In-person program entitled Sama-samang ikaway,
Malinis na Kamay will be held at Marikina Elementary School and will
also be broadcasted live via the OK sa DepEd and DepEd Philippines
Facebook pages.
b. October 17, 2022 - School-based handwashing activity during MAPEH
time integrated in their health lessons.
2. This activity aims to:
a. highlight the importance of multisectoral collaboration in promoting a
culture of hand hygiene and
b. to emphasize hand hygiene as a critical public health measure to ensure
safe schools and communities.
3. The participants of the activity are the teaching, non-teaching personnel of the
school and the students.

5. All expenses incurred will be charged to MOOE, subject to usual accounting
and auditing rules and regulations.
6. Immediate dissemination of this memorandum is earnestly desired.
