b. What are the challenges, issues, and problems they met in their division or district in
relation to curriculum implementation?

In the curriculum implementation, the district encountered many challenges


considering that K-12 Curriculum is a big change in the entire education system in the
country thus, the challenges, issues and problems encountered by the implanting agency
are as follows;

Challenges
a) Lack of preparation and professional development;
b) Excessive academic burden on students; and
c) Integration of lessons in the real-life context.

Issues:
1) the displacement of teachers at tertiary level;
2) the lack of information on the guidelines for implementation;
3) the lack of university students for two years; and
4) the lack of resources for implementation.

Problem:
It include the need for teachers to be trained in pedagogy, education research,
measurement and evaluation, and classroom management to ensure that instructions are
delivered in a meaningful way and a lack of government budget to provide the necessary
resources to support this new curriculum, including junior and senior high school teachers.
c. What are the strategies they are implementing to address these issues, challenges,
and problems?

The following are the strategies used to address the issues, challenges and problems
in the implementation of curriculum as follows;

ACTIVITY #22

1. Describe the process of curriculum development practiced by your college or


university.

The process of developing a curriculum may be broken down into five simple steps:
1.) Identifying needs, 2.) planning, 3.) creating material, 4.) delivering a pilot lesson, and
5.) revising the final product. It is ideal to have at least 12 to 18 months to plan and build a
curriculum.

2. Develop a flow chart describing how a curriculum proposal reaches the level of
approval in your college or university.

Northern Bukidnon State College flowchart is actually inspired from the Program
Outcomes of Northern Bukidnon State College to meet and provide quality and effective
education to the learners.

3. Identify the people involved and their level of involvement.


The people who are actively working and behind the success of Northern Bukidnon
State College (NBSC) to attain high-quality education are the following;

4. Discuss how your college/university addresses several issues and challenges


and integrate them in the curriculum.

Northern Bukidnon State College addresses the various problems and


difficulties by simply returning to the school’s vision, mission, and objectives as
follows;

Northern Bukidnon State College will be a college of choice, nationally recognized
for having innovative and sustainable academic programs, research, extensions, and
services that cultivate educational, personal, and professional growth to meet the needs of
our students, our society, and the global community.

MISSION
Northern Bukidnon State College is an accessible community-based institution that
provides educational opportunities to develop students into socially responsible,
competent, and productive professionals.

ACTIVITY #23

1. Collect samples of syllabus in your school. Examine how each syllabus considers
the various factors affecting the identified curriculum implementation. Write
your observation on the space provided.

In my research various factors affecting the identified curriculum implementation is


very effective because Northern Bukidnon State College Syllabi for in-person and online
courses should include information about the teacher, the course's objectives (or
outcomes), the course's methodology, the grading standards, how grades are calculated,
and the course's policies.
