Prerequisite
1. Install Java Runtime Environment (Refer TE Release Note for appropriate jre
version)

2. Download JCE Policy, copy local_policy and US_export_policy, paste into <java
installation folder>\jre1.x.0_xxx\lib\security.

Tripwire Enterprise Console Installation

1. Run Tripwire Enterprise Installer

2. Select appropriate JVM

 3. Change Installation Directory if necessary

4. Provide a valid Service Passphrase(will be use in configuring web console and

agent installation)

5. Follow on-screen instruction, after installation, click Finish.

 6. After Step 5, a browser will open, key in the Service Passphrase and click Login.

7. Key in the appropriate information, check database connect by clicking Test

Database Login. If failed, check the error and take appropriate action. If Connection
Succeeded, click Save Configuration and Restart Console.

 8. Create a password for default Administrator web console account and click Confirm
and Continue.

9. Login TE web console as administrator and the password created on Step 8.

 10. Click Configure Tripwire Enterprise.

11. Complete the following steps :

a. Step 1 - Click Browse and select TE license (.cert)
b. Step 2 (Optional) – Tick any additional policies
c. Step 3 – Tick any platform to monitor which are available
d. Step 4 (Optional) – Can leave it as default
e. Step 5 (Optional) – Configure an email server
f. Step 6 – Create an administrator account for TE web console
g. Click Preview Configuration

 12. Click Apply Configuration.

 13. Wait for completion of configuration, then login into TE web console using account
create on Step 11(Step 6).

Tripwire Enterprise Agent Installation

Windows
1. Run agent installation file (te_agent.msi)

2. (Optional) If having the issue(installing te and tlc agent in the same server) similar
with the screenshot below, please follow these steps :
a. Run command prompt as administrator
b. Change directory to agent installer path
c. Type the below command
<agent installer path>>te_agent.msi IGNORE_AXON=true

 3. Click Next and Accept the term.

 4. (Optional) Select installation directory

5. Key in the TE Server IP address and click Next.

 6. Click Next.

7. Key in the Service Passphrase that is created on TE Console Installation Step 6

and click Next.

 8. Wait installation complete and click Finish.

Linux
1. Upload the agent installation file(te_agent.bin) to the server which the default
installation directory is (/usr/local/tripwire/te/agent).
2. To launch the installer, enter the following command at command prompt:
./te_agent.bin
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
