Testing Methods 6.1 Construction The construction test shall be conducted in accord- ance with 5. of JIS C 3005. 6.2 Conductor Resistance The conductor resistance test shall be con- ducted In accordance with 6. of JIS C 3005. ‘The resistance value shall be converted to %/m, 6.3 Withstand Voltage The withstand voltage test shall be conducted as follows! (1) Spark The spark test shall be conducted in accordance with 8. ‘of JIS C 3005. (2) Immersion A test specimen of about 600 mm in length shall be Taken for the immersion tost from a lot of cablo which has pasced the spark test. The insulator at the both ends for a length of about 25 mm of the specimen shall be torn off, and the baro conductor twisted, and as shown in Fig. 1, the central part of the specimen, for a length of 300 mm, shall be immersed in 5 % salt water. After immersion for § h, an AC voltage of 50 or 60 Hz c/s and nearly sinusoidal wave shall be applied between the conductor and earth, ‘The voltage shall be gradually increased up to 1000 V, and kept at this value for 1 min for withstand test. The specimen shall be in contact with No. 150 G Abrasive Tape specified in JIS R_ 6251, and a load of Table 7 shall be applied. The tape shall be moved with a speed of 1500 mm/min, and the length of the tape, moved so far as the conductor come in contact with the tape, shall be measured. After a measurement at one point has been made, the specimen shall be shifted 25 mm, turned 90° in clockwise direction and fixed, and the above mentioned test shall be repeated. Thus 8 tests shall be conducted on one specimen, read measured Values and the average value obtained. Measured values below the average shall be averaged again, and the value thus obtained shall be taken as the abrasion-resistance value. Fig. 5.
