TP 170s touch screen enables

intuitive control and monitoring. Opera-
tion is carried out using any blunt object
(pen, finger - gloved or ungloved - etc.).
The OP 170B with membrane keyboard
has been designed for applications that
require mechanical keys.
Rugged for industrial use
With shallow installation depth and rug-
ged front IP65 certification, the panels
are optimally equipped for use at the
machine level. The optional protective
hood on the touch panels offers addi-
tional protection against dirt and
scratches and provides NEMA 4/12 certi-
fication.
Convincing functionality
Equipped with practice-oriented func-
tionality, the TP 170A, TP 170B and
OP 170B control your tasks supremely
well. Available tools include graphics,
bar charts, input and output fields, but-
tons, LEDs, password protection, freely
scalable fixed texts, and messages. In
addition on the TP 170B/OP 170B, there
are trends, recipes, text and graphics
lists, and much more.
Efficient configuring
The SIMATIC Panels of the 170 series are
part of an integrated SIMATIC HMI

panel family. The SIMATIC Panels are
configured using the SIMATIC ProTool
configuring software (from Pro-
Tool/Lite) or the innovated SIMATIC
WinCC flexible engineering tool (from
Compact).
SIMATIC WinCC flexible is the next gen-
eration of the field-proven ProTool fam-
ily. Changing from the ProTool family to
WinCC flexible is made using the com-
patible transfer of the entire ProTool
configuration.
The new WinCC flexible family offers a
significant boost in configuring effi-
ciency, and for the TP/OP 170 it also
provides expanded functionality and
increased messaging and graphic object
capabilities.
