Nicki Minaj was born on the 8th of
December 1982. She is a Trinidadian
Rapper, Hip-Hop, Rock, and Pop singer.
Her birth name is Onika Tanya Maraj.
She was born in Saint James, Trinidad
and Tobago.
Her family moved to Queens in New
York when she was only 5 years old. Her
father was a drug addict. He tried to kill
his wife (Nicki’s Mom) by burning down
the house. His attempt luckily failed. She
created fantasy character for herself to
communicate with them. One of them was
called Cookie. As a helpful girl, she tried
to make her mother feel strong to move
on with her life but this was also a bad
try. Nicki once said to a magazine
interviewer that she wanted to be strong
and successful to empower her mom. She
also said that “Fantasy is my reality”,
where she meant she didn’t have limits
even the imaginations were real life events
of her life.

She started rapping at the age of 12.

She went to LaGuardia High School of
Music and Art, where she started acting.
But she didn’t succeed at her acting
career, so she thought of having a stable
job. She worked as a waitress, but she
quickly got fired because customers
complained of her being some rude.
As a young girl, Nicki created alter
ego. She sang many songs in public
places. She finally was discovered by
Dirty Money CEO Fendi. This led her to
work with Lil Wayne. They collaborated
together in multiple successive mix tapes.
She also cooperated with Mariah Carey
and Robin Thicke.

Her debut was in the early 2010. This

pop up was because of her album Pink
Friday. Later on 2011, Nicki sang her
signature song Super Bass. Then Minaj
was a judge in the American Idol on 2012.
That time Jennifer Lopez hated her
because she judged her in a rude way.
Then fireworks started between Minaj
and Mariah Carey. Mariah disliked
Nicki’s judgment. The two were in a
serious argument live. Mariah claimed
the Nicki threatened her using physical
harm. Then Nicki stopped working for
the American Idol show, although that
was a part of her dream.
Following that, she was a special guest
in Madonna’s game popular halftime
show. A short time later, Nicki Minaj
released a new album which was Pink
Friday: Roman Reloaded. This album was
a super hit on the pop, R&B, and rap
billboard charts.
The first hit single was the addictive
disco anthem "Starships." "Pound the
Alarm" and "Va Va Voom" quickly
followed. That same year, she sang
"Roman Holiday" at the Grammy
Awards. Eight new singles were released
from her forthcoming album, The
Pinkprint, which was released on
December 12, 2014. Beyoncé, Chris
Brown, Ariana Grande, and Drake were
among the album's numerous celebrity
guests. It went double platinum, and she
won Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the
BET Awards for the seventh time in 2016.
Minaj has also been venturing into
new fields. She voiced the mammoth
Steffie in 2012's Ice Age: Continental
Drift and made her screen debut opposite
Cameron Diaz in 2014's The Other
Woman. She was later nominated for a
Teen Choice Award in 2016 for her
appearance in Barbershop: The Next Cut.
She also fronted a host of sponsorship
deals and promotional ads for brands
such as MAC Cosmetics, Adidas
Originals, and Pepsi, as well as her own
fragrance range. She holds an interest in
the Tidal streaming business. Her
relationship with rapper Meek Mill ended
in early 2017.
Among her other interests, Minaj has
maintained her musical artistic
concentration. She appeared on a slew of
singles in 2017, and with the simultaneous
release and popularity of "No Frauds,"
"Regret in Your Tears," and "Changed
It", she broke Aretha Franklin's record
for most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a
female artist.
Minaj and rapper Juice Wrld kicked
off The Nicki Wrld Tour in Frankfurt,
Germany, in early 2019. In addition to
her several collaborations, the singer
released her first solo single of the year,
"Megatron," in late June.After the
release of The Angry Birds Movie 2, in
which she had a voice role, in September.
Kenneth Petty, her boyfriend, was
released from prison in October, and she
married him.
Minaj served as a guest judge on the
season 12 opener of RuPaul's Drag Race
after kicking off 2020 with the Meghan
Trainor collaboration "Nice to Meet Ya."
She then worked with Doja Cat on a
version of "Say So," which became
Minaj's first single to top the Billboard
