PARAGRAPH ANALYSIS (15 pts.) Read each little paragraph. WRITE in a separate
paper or Microsoft word or notes the complete sentence that does not belong to the
paragraph. Due on November 23, 2022. Strictly no extension. Upload your answers in the
link provided for your section.

1. Frogs are eaten by some Filipinos. They are caught in fields and near
streams. A frog jumps high. Before frog is cooked, the skin is taken off.
Frogs can be made into Tinola or adobo.
2. In Australia, moths are eaten by some people. They roast these in fire
just like barbecue. Moths look like butterflies. Sitting around a
campfire, People eat toasted moths.
3. Caviar is most popular in the Soviet Union. I haven’t tasted caviar.
Caviar is also eaten all over Europe and in the U.S. Caviar is actually tiny
eggs from the sturgeon, a kind of fish. These eggs are very salty and
fishy.
4. In the Philippines, people also eat birds nests. But the nests have to be
made into soup. Bird soup tastes nice. There are other kinds of soup.
5. The waves hit the rocks. The water moved closer and closer to the two
boys. There was a coming ship. The two boys were frightened. They ran
toward the shore.
6. The boy sat in the park. He watched the sitting sun. He biked to the park.
Life for him was quiet and peaceful. He was enjoying the afternoon.
7. Dogs are friendly and obedient. They can be trained to do many things.
They can be trained to hunt and do tricks. They can be trained to lead the
blind. Dog chase cats.
8. I had a happy weekend at my lolo’s farm. I milked the cow in the
morning. I fed the chickens and pigs. I ran into a wire fence and cut
myself. I picked up chicken eggs on the ground.
9. We learned safety rules during our camp-out. Fire must be put out. We
learned that one should not swim alone. We buried our garbage. We
learned to recognized poisonous plants.
10. Have you heard of a male bird who sits on the bird eggs to warm
them. Male birds do not lay eggs. The male Rhea bird of South America
sits on the eggs. If anyone comes near, he hisses loudly. After the eggs
hatch, he leads them around to show them where to find food.
11. Anna Pavlova was a famous ballet dancer. She was interested in
raising birds. She became the most famous ballet dancer in the world.
12. Many years ago there were no books. The first books were long strips
of paper. Some people did not like to read. The strip of paper was rolled
on two sticks. People would unroll the piece of paper to read it.
13. Salmons are born and die in fresh water. Salmons are good to eat.
When they are still young, they swim from the river into the sea. There
they live until the time they are ready to lay eggs. Then, they swim back
to the river and stream. There they lay their eggs and later die.
14. Jose Rizal is our national hero. He was born in Calamba Laguna. He
studied in Binan, laguna, in Manila and later in Europe. We have many
heroes. He wrote two great novels. He also wrote poems. The Spaniards
hate him so they shot him in Bagumbayan now Luneta park.
